I went to see cars for the 20 year anniversary re-release and as the movie finished I was sitting close to a mother and son (in his early 20s) and we started talking. I asked them what their dream was as I've asked when I did cold approaches months back and stopped because I didn't see results. In this month since I first met them, because I had collected her number which I never did with others (big mistake) we kept in touch and in our discovery call she told me how important she believes mentorship is and how people need to learn to be firm in what they want in their lives no matter what others think or do. She loved my program but do to his youngest son being autistic (I've seen bigger cases in which I can't deal with and I'm honest with it) it might have to take a slightly different approach, but she also said after a few conversations that she wants her older son a year older to work with me. Not only that, but she also wanted to recommend me to another program that works with teens and young adults who need the space to express themselves in a non therapeutic space. Had I not talked to anyone this would not have happened. We need to take action no matter the short term results because eventually we'll be in the right place at the right time. That's the type of parent who's teen or young adult should take my program. It was an easy call, the program was very clear to her as she wants both her sons to work with me and the trust was there. The lesson is that keeping cold approaching (which I haven't recorded for socials and might do that at some point when the reason is clear to me) could bring the numbers up. That might've been luck but got the courage because I had cold approached before and teens and young adults deserve clarity as well as adults or even more than adults. I've spent so many years running away from my true calling. I know what it's like to be misunderstood by the people closest to you and yet I kept going. This is why I created Compass Mentoring. There are families where parents want their kids to go to college, some want to put them in the same field as they are to carry out the family business or tradition. Neither is right or wrong, however even in families no one is the same and not listening to your true calling can be expensive in the long run. How many people have you seen they actually feel fulfilled? Compass is a mentorship program that transforms insecure teens and young adults ages 12 to 24 into highly confident people with the mindset, character and determination to build the life they want for themselves. I believe in leading by example with my acting career and we all deserve to live by what actually fulfills us. What we've normalized is not our fault as that's what we were taught. Doesn't mean it cannot be changed. That can create a stronger family relationship.

I just had a conversation with someone I met from another community who also coaches others to live the life they want. Something that called my attention was that he learned a method that consists of 11 steps, where through smell he can reveal someone's personality, hidden habits and more. I too believe in the use of our senses as a self discovery tool but hadn't heard of such a thing like that 11 step method. An activity I'm familiar with involves touch. Long story short, I use custom made masks as a self discovery tool. I've used it with people I know well enough and it's not a method I've thought of using to introduce myself as it requires a high level of trust.
