Why I started Golf Speed Training
I started playing golf when I was 10 and I have always been a long hitter even for my size. I was able to drive it over 300 yards in high school despite being 5’10 and 150 pounds at the time. Through my 20s I still had tour length, my driver through wedge numbers compared exactly to Rory or Brooks. By my early 30s I noticed two things 1) I was getting shorter despite strength training 3-4 days a week 2) the bombers on tour were getting longer! I couldn’t understand how guys like Justin Thomas could fly drives 325. I knew I had to be missing something, but I wasn’t quite sure what. I began researching speed training and two things became clear. If I wanted to get faster, I would need to change up my workouts and I would need to add specific speed training. In the fall of 2021, I decided that I would start shifting the goals of my strength training by using programs from Fit For Golf and to start speed training with the Stack System.

My seventh completed program - flex again for training during the golf season. At this point my priorities are to maintain speed. I ended up down 1 MPH after this program, but still 20 MPH over where I started!

My eighth completed program - Full Speed Spectrum. Heading into the off season I wanted to see if I could get back to my peak speed. In addition to a full volume program, I also began to lift heavier in the gym. Ended with my highest MPH of 138, over 26 MPH more than when I started 2 years ago.

I am a golf and fitness fanatic. I have combined these two into a passion for club head speed training which I want to share with others
