Book Recommendations ??
Hello guys! I just finished the free mini-course for the 2nd time. I am now waiting for my first one-on-one call, and I am excited! In the meantime, I am reading How To Win Friends & Influence People by Dale Carnegie. It's a great read. I highly recommend this book if you are dealing with sales or running a business. I am 3 chapters away from completing this book. I also ordered the $100M Offer book as well as the second book, $100 Leads, that Gills speaks about in one of the lessons. Does anyone else have any book recommendations to help one get the right mindset before starting their own business?

Surrounded by Idiots by Thomas’s Erickson will help you understand so many perils extremely fast. Especially your carriers.
Gathering the Tools Necessary
I am preemptively thinking of ways I can digitally track my progress as well as that of my drivers(carriers) throughout my day-to-day operations. Is there a way through the ELD I can track the starting miles/ending miles, hours of service, etc., or do I need to look at using an app that the driver can use to submit the information to me? I'm sure there are tons of different ways other dispatchers are tackling these task(s), and I'm not one to reinvent the wheel. On a second note, what are even the things that I need to track daily? Will they be the same for each of my trucks/carriers I have working with me? Am I tracking fuel expenses or is the owner of the trucking company? Do I need to remind the driver of when his or her next oil change is, or is that the responsibility of the truck owner? I would think all these variables I'm considering tracking would be up to the carrier and how much they want me involved in their company's business. I would really like to get a handle on tools I can use to help me succeed before I start knocking on doors offering my services.

I think making a spreadsheet would be the easiest way to launch it. Have the formulas subtract starting miles from end. Record and aggregate some averages on a daily weekly monthly, MoM, YoY basis. I have ChatGPT write all my formulas and code for me.
