🚛 Progress Update – Contract Work
Hey everyone, I wanted to share what I’ve been working on lately. A big focus for me these past couple of days has been refining my Dispatching Agreement/Contract. I’ve been tightening up the language so it’s clear, simple, and professional. I’m making sure it really communicates what my service offers without any confusion. One question I’d love to hear your experiences on: 👉 Has anyone here submitted their contract to a lawyer for review? - Was it worth it? - Did it help you avoid problems later down the road? - If you did it, how much did it cost and would you recommend it for someone just starting out? I feel like I’ve taken the contract about as far as I can on my own, and now I’m wondering if legal review is the smart next step. I’d really appreciate hearing what others in Dispatcher University have done, so I can decide if it’s a good investment at this stage. Thanks in advance! Excited to keep pushing forward 🚀

J.J. Keller Enhances Fleet Safety with MVR Monitoring in Encompass System
Hey y’all 👋🏾 Managing a fleet of trucks comes with a long list of responsibilities, and one of the most critical is ensuring that drivers are operating safely and legally. J.J. Keller & Associates, a well-known name in fleet compliance and safety solutions, has taken a big step forward by adding Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Monitoring to its Encompass Fleet Management System. This feature is designed to give fleet managers real-time insights into their drivers records, helping companies identify risks before they turn into costly accidents or compliance violations. Let’s break down what this means for trucking companies and why it’s a game-changer for fleet safety. What is MVR Monitoring? Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Monitoring is a system that tracks a driver’s history of violations, suspensions, and other critical updates related to their driving record. Traditionally, fleets would pull MVRs annually or at set intervals, but this new system offers continuous and on-demand monitoring, providing fleet managers with up-to-date information whenever they need it. Key Features of J.J. Keller’s MVR Monitoring J.J. Keller’s new feature in the Encompass system offers two major types of monitoring: 1. On-Demand MVR Monitoring Fleet managers can instantly pull a driver’s MVR whenever needed. Helps with hiring decisions by quickly verifying a new driver’s record. Useful for investigating concerns about a driver’s behavior or performance. 2. Continuous MVR Monitoring Automatically tracks driver’s records over time and alerts managers to any changes. Notifies fleets of violations, license suspensions, DUIs, and other infractions as they occur. Helps in identifying high-risk drivers before they become a bigger liability. Why is This Important for Trucking Companies? Fleet safety and compliance aren’t just about following the rules, ”they’re about protecting your business, your drivers, and the public. Here’s why this upgrade to J.J. Keller’s Encompass system is such a big deal:

How To Find Your First Carrier (Step-By-Step)
91% of new dispatchers can’t find a single carrier to work with. Not because they’re unlucky. Not because the market is saturated. But because they’re doing it wrong... Carriers don’t care about your pitch. They don’t care that you’re a new dispatcher. They don’t care that you “work hard.” They care about one thing—proof of results. Here’s how you can start 👇 1. Find the “Dream Outcome” • No one wants a dispatcher. They want better loads, more money, and less stress. • Stop guessing what carriers want. Do the research. Figure out their biggest problems. • If you don’t know what they actually want, you won’t sell them anything. Skip this step and you’ll waste months trying to solve the wrong problem. 2. Use the "Starter Offer" • You have zero experience. So... why would anyone pay you? • Instead of selling a promise, remove the risk—work FREE for 30 days in exchange for a testimonial. • That testimonial becomes proof—and proof is what you use to charge money. You need to LEARN before you can EARN. 3. Be So Good They Can’t Ignore You • Over-communicate. Find loads fast. Solve problems before they ask. • Make it impossible for them to go back to dispatching themselves. • Carriers don’t refer “good” service. They refer shockingly good service. If carriers can see you're working hard, they will stick around. 4. Compound Referrals • After the free trial, convert them into a paid client or get 3 referrals. • One carrier turns into five, five turns into fifteen—without more cold calls. • If you do this right, your first carrier is the last one you ever have to chase. Your first client needs to build your lead pipeline for you. 5. Become the Best, THEN Raise Prices • After stacking testimonials and referrals, don’t just charge more—become more valuable. • The better you get AND the more proof you collect... the less you compete on price. • Carriers will chase you, not the other way around. The best dispatchers don’t sell. They attract. Most dispatchers will ignore this and keep begging carriers to work with them.
