From Fired to Firefighter
A year ago I got fired from corporate America and I'm forever grateful. I had never been fired up until that point and boy howdy have I worked a lot of jobs. But for the first time in my life, I was let go for being myself. They felt I wasn't a good fit. It was during my probationary period so there was nothing I could do but be professional and appreciate the opportunity they gave me. I applied every where for 3 months. I probably refreshed LinkedIn 25,000x/day during that time. Nothing. Now the next part is devine intervention. For whatever reason I applied at Costco in July. I was way overqualified and they hired me on the spot. It was blow to my wallet and pride(also one of the best companies I ever worked for). On the third day of working there, a guy I grew up with came to my register. We were surprised and grateful to see each other! He told me that he was a firefighter in a city nearby. He told me they were hurting, not enough people had been applying. He invited me for a ride along at the department. I went back to school. I got certified. I start my job at the fire department in 10 days and I could not be more excited! Don't take time for granted, you can change your whole world in 1 year! Whether you're at your lowest or your highest, you got this 🤘❤️

What Watch Converted You?
What was the watch that started your journey? It doesn't necessarily have to be your first watch, but the watch you started wearing all the time. For me it was a (believe it or not) Invicta Pro Diver! Which I wore for months and months until I purchased my next watch, the Casio Duro!

@Robert Irwin I remember scouting these out on Amazon right before the price hike 😞 but I realized that my wrists are way too big for the model. Love the design I wish they would make a 44 mm 😂
Contemporary Classic Cool Style
Hey All, Looking for some advice on how I can upgrade the classic tshirt and jeans combo. I always make sure both my jeans and shirts fit well, I always pair with stylish sneakers or boots, a nice watch, a nice scent. It is what I am comfortable in, I think the biggest issue for me is that I think i look weird / goofy in like a short sleeve button down, it feels incongruent. I have found that I really like cardigans and that helps dress things up as well. So please any help to dress up the daily casual wear would be great, take me to that next level of style. I'd love to get a bomber jacket or motorcycle jacket, which would be great for the winter but in LA, its not the most useful thing, I love dressing for fall winter way more than summer because I feel like I don't know what to wear in summer. Honestly I know this is a long winded question and there are probably a million things in here to dissect but any help / suggestions would be appreciated.

I second the short sleeve Henley but if that's not your style I also recommend just playing around with some different colors of t-shirts and washes of denim during the year! I also french tuck or full tuck a lot of shirts too. Obviously it's your fit, so you choose what works best for you!
Old Spice
Who is still using classic, old school, every day scents our daddys and grandpappys used? Things like Old Spice, Aqua Velva, Paco Rabanne, Aramis, Chaps, Polo. Anyone still rocking offerings from Avon? Was your pappy a Colors, Obsession, Drakkar Noir, CK One, Eternity man?

I use Old spice deodorant but not the original scent. I usually wear one of the newer scents that are more mild and tame so as to not interfere with the fragrance I'm wearing that day. But when I do smell the original it reminds me of my dad and grandfather!
Buzzed it off!
I noticed over the last 3 years that my hair was starting to thin at the crown severely. And it happening in my twenties was a shock. After a year of treatment trying to reverse it, I was over it. A few months ago, as a joke, I told my barber to buzz it off. And she said "let's do it!". My only regret was not doing it sooner!
