1 contribution to Athletic Transition Community
Welcome
START HERE: Welcome to the When The Ball Goes Flat Athletic Transition Community You made it. And that matters. Before you dive into anything else in this community, take three minutes and watch the Welcome Video at the top of this page. It will tell you exactly who this space is for, what you can expect, and how to get the most out of your time here. Once you have watched it, come back and follow these three steps. STEP 1: INTRODUCE YOURSELF Head to the Introductions post and tell us who you are. Use one of the prompts below based on your role: If you are an athlete: Share your sport, how long you played, and what nobody warned you about when it ended or when you knew it was coming to an end. If you are a parent: Share your child’s sport and the moment you realized this transition was harder than you expected. If you are a coach or athletic director: Share how long you have been coaching or working in athletics and what made you realize your athletes needed more support beyond the game. Do not overthink it. A few honest sentences is all it takes. This is how the community learns who is in the room. STEP 2: FIND YOUR COURSE This community has courses built specifically for you based on your role. STEP 3: SHOW UP EVERY WEEK This community has a weekly rhythm designed to keep you engaged, challenged, and moving forward. Here is what to expect every week: Monday: Mental Health Checkin We start the week by checking on the whole person, not just the athlete. Show up, be honest about where you are, and support the people around you who are doing the same. Tuesday: Transition Tuesday Real conversations about what athletic transition actually looks and feels like. Share your experience, ask your questions, and learn from others who are navigating the same road. Wednesday: Brave Day A challenge rooted in courageous action. This is the day we push past comfort and do the thing that moves the needle. Come ready to act, not just reflect. Thursday: Transfer Portal Thursday

My name is Jordan, though most people know me as JB. I grew up with a deep passion for basketball and began playing recreationally at the age of nine, continuing through the age of 22. The game has had a significant impact on my life, teaching me valuable lessons both on and off the court. However, one challenge I faced was transitioning from athletics into the professional world. While basketball helped develop important personal skills such as discipline, teamwork, and leadership, I was never fully prepared for how to apply those strengths effectively in everyday life and the workplace.
