WFH style question
[Edited for context] If you WFH and rarely go out during the day, what are you doing to make yourself feel stylish? I have no answers or suggestions. I really need everyone's thoughts on this! [Edit: My normal attire is something like a buttoned oxford shirt and jeans. To me, this feels really casual, but I see from the comments that casual means different things to different people. Also, I work for myself and don't have teams that I need to dress up for in meetings. So there are really no external factors pushing me to dress better.]

@Kevin Courington good idea. Think next Friday I’ll go to the networking event at the Irish consulate. Good excuse to dress up.

@Darren Poesel This is a good idea. Make it part of the routine.
W's all around!
In the last 4 months, I have lost 30lbs and 6in off of my waist, going from a tight 42 to a loose 38. My hair/beard style and care is better, and not only do I have a new wardrobe due to lose of weight, but it is of a much higher caliber of style. I have gotten many compliments from family and even my bosses at work on my improved dress habits. Many thanks to all of you in the RMRS community for the inspiration and readily available style tips. It is all greatly appreciated. Edit: I have lost 30lbs, not 3lbs.

That’s amazing. Keep up the great work. I know how awesome it feels to be at a lighter weight after being heavy.
Article on Stoicism
I read this article from the History Channel website on stoicism, and thought it was an interesting read. https://www.history.com/articles/stoic-philosophy-leaders-meditations

@Kerry Bottoms You should read Ryan Holiday's books. They're very much about engaging in the here and now, having courage and discipline, and accepting what you cannot change, rather than avoidance of reality.

@Chad Smith I went to my senior prom with my forefinger in a cast like that. And wearing a white dinner jacket and black tie like Rick in Casablanca.

I had this Donegal Tweed made for me in 1997 with an action shooting back and suede elbow patches. Paired it with a gold merino wool and a woven striped shirt with navy and gold stripes. Which allowed me to add a pair of navy RL chinos and a pocket square with the same colors. Chose Rocky Mountain National park Pendleton socks and my new Clarke’s navy white soled shoes. I usually would not wear white soled shoes with this outfit but since the Captain (me) of my boat doesn’t allow black soled shoes for the afternoon sail-I did. Sailing = Fun Watch (Borealis Diver). Straight from church with a swing through the Taco Bueno drive through for some quesadillas to eat in the Salon (saloon if you prefer) of the boat. Just mom wife and I out for an October Sail. Added my leather newsboy and prescription Costa DelMars for the boat.

@Brian McGuire we do hotels, mainly deep value add renovations on assets that need a lot of TLC. The one in Mayo really fits the model but it’s just too far away.

@Brian McGuire we haven’t done projects that ambitious. Maybe someday.
