MONDAY MINDSET
People admire the destination. The results. The confidence. The “overnight success.” What they don’t see is the journey. The early mornings. The setbacks. The long nights. The self-doubt. The sacrifices made quietly, long before anything looked impressive. The days you kept going even when quitting would’ve been easier. I’ve learnt this firsthand. Everyone wants the outcome, but very few are willing to walk the road it takes to get there. The destination is the reward - but the journey is the price. Too many people don't want to pay the price. 👉 So if the journey feels heavy right now, keep going. One day, it will make the destination worth it.

This Is a Big Signal From the Market 👀
Came across this on the BBC and it’s one everyone in property should pay attention to. A developer in Cambridgeshire wants to swap plans for 17 large homes and build 50 smaller two- and three-bed houses instead. Why? Because that’s what people are actually buying. Not the big houses. Not the fancy layouts. The homes that fit real budgets and real lives. What I find interesting is this isn’t a new site; it’s a scheme already approved and partially built. The developer has looked at demand, seen what’s selling (and what isn’t), and adjusted. Even three-story townhouses were dropped because buyers just weren’t interested. This is exactly what the market has been telling us for a while. Affordability drives everything. Smaller units move quicker, stack up better, and often create less risk when done right. And councils are more open to changes when they clearly meet housing need. If you’re investing, developing, or raising money, this is a reminder to stop building what you like and start building what the market wants. Would you make the same call if this was your deal? Fifty houses could be added to Leverington housing development

This is definitely always a thought when developing. You need to assess what the market demands. Just because a site has planning doesnt mean its the best use of the site. This is where you can create extra value.

For a long time, I avoided uncomfortable conversations, trying to avoid conflict. If you’ve ever stayed silent to avoid conflict, you already know the cost. Your mind is constnatly thinking of the situation, relationships can suffer, and the problem grows louder the longer its ignored. We all want to grow and progress and that doesn't come from avoiding the hard conversations, it comes from taking responsibilty, being honest and tackling the issues at hand. If you have a problem/situation whether thats with a contractor, investor, business partner, friend, etc. the best approach is to address the issue as quickly as you can, be honest, talk about the issue and discuss possible solutions. The other party will value you more for being able to have open transparent conversations. Speak early. Speak clearly. Speak with respect. It won’t always be easy, but it will always be worth it. 👉 What conversation have you been avoiding that could change everything?

Unfortunately LIFE doesn’t hand out free lessons. I know how frustrating it feels when things don’t go your way. When progress feels slow and the lesson feels heavy. It’s easy to think you’re failing. Experience has taught me that those moments aren’t punishment, they’re payment, your entry fee. Payment for growth, wisdom, and resilience. What we all want is progress without pain. But real growth comes from leaning into the lesson, not running from it. Reflect. Adjust. Apply. Move forward stronger. 👉 What lesson is life teaching you right now — and how will you use it?

I'm sure, like me, many of us have stress in our lives. Work, business, relationships, etc. I thought stress came from the situation, the deadlines, the pressure, the uncertainty. Some believe stress isn’t caused by what’s happening, it’s caused by how we think about what’s happening. We all face things we can’t control. That’s where I used to get the most stressed, replaying the same worries, going down the "what if?" scenarios, burning energy on problems I can’t change. When this starts to happen I try and catch my thoughts and remind myself that I can't control everything. I can, however, do everything I possibly can to influence a situation but I need to accept there are things I can't control. Life happens for a reason. So here’s the rules I try and live by now: Control what you can. Let go of what you can’t. Refocus my energy on the next constructive step. That mindset doesn’t remove challenges, it removes unnecessary stress. 👉 Today, ask yourself: what can I release that I’ve been trying to control?
