We Will Take The Win
It's funny, I have helmed large projects plenty of times before, but I don't think I knew those projects could be BIGGER. I am learning new things daily and managing a larger and larger team. I am grateful every day for the crazy adventure I am on and the people I get to work with. I brought my principal cast together in person for the first time this week so we could see each other and talk to each other. As we get ready for a big photoshoot on Sunday and our first table read on Wednesday, I felt it important to touch base, to ground ourselves in each other. To me, authentic connection makes for better creative output. I've been called old school for this, but I wouldn't change it.

Friday Wins and Random Poll of the Week
Happy Friday Syndicate Members!! Great Coffee Chat yesterday and lot's of ideas coming to the community soon. It's Valentines Weekend, so love (and sometimes sadness), is in the air. May you get the restaurant reservation you want, may the chocolate covered strawberries be sweet, and may the time with your significant other be uninterrupted. Fridays are for WINS and I think I will add a fun or goofy poll each week as well. So let the group know, what went great for you this week in work or home? And in honor of Valentines Weekend, partnered or not...What Is Your Love Language??

It's Visibility Boost Wednesday: Valentines Edition
Hey Syndicate Family, I hope you are all having a great week! As we head into Valentines weekend, let's shake up our Visibility Boost this week and highlight a Spouse, Business Partner, Pet, Child or some other love in your life, (I'm seriously thinking of posting me and my coffee cup ๐Ÿ˜†). Share below a pic of someone important in your life and/or business. Let us know how they keep you motivated. Then let's talk about caring in OUR community and finish it off with, "I would LOVE if someone in the Syndicate could refer a ________, suggest a __________, or maybe give me some advice on _________." Let's literally share the love this week friends.....Scott

I feel like the nightmare where your name is called and you go up to do your acceptance speech and you forget who to thank :) I am lucky to have so many people in my life who keep me going, lend me an ear or a shoulder and who encourage the work I do. So to those who know, you know, but I'm going a different route and I am grateful to my little furball, Reggie (Sir Reginald of Shuffield). Gives me someone to focus on other than myself and the work, is always happy to see me and sad when I leave the house. That cliche of pets and their unconditional love has so much truth to it. So I'll be that gay guy who treats his pup like his child and can't say enough about him :) Now my boyfriend will not be thrilled that I picked the dog LOL But he's pretty great too, so here are both of them. Now for the fill in the blank: I would LOVE if someone in the Syndicate could refer an ideas person, suggest a fundraising idea, or maybe give some advice on how they funded a creative project." We will launch our kickstarter in a couple of weeks, but it will be a worldwind funding tornado. lol
Welcome Our Newest Member, The Podcast Tool
Happy Tuesday Syndicate Family, Let's welcome to the group our newest member all the way from Serbia, @Darko ลฝivkov Popov Give him a warm welcome and Darko, take a minute to go to our "Introductions" tab and let us know a little about yourself and how we can help each other grow. For today's 'Tools to Grow,' I want to talk a little bit about podcasting. It came up in our ALL Member Coffee Chat yesterday, and since it's in my wheelhouse, I thought I would post about it today. As an lgbtq podcaster for over 10 years now, I have seen the benefits of both sides of the microphone, from the podcaster's perspective and the guest's. Podcasting isnโ€™t just โ€œcontent.โ€ Itโ€™s a visibility accelerator, a trust builder, and a relationship magnet, especially for LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs, creatives, and service providers. Hereโ€™s why both hosting and guesting on podcasts are powerful tools to grow your business or service: The Power of Being a Podcast Guest When youโ€™re a guest, you borrow trust instantly. Youโ€™re stepping into an audience thatโ€™s already warmed up. Why it works: - You position yourself as an expert without pitching - You reach new, aligned audiences fast - You build credibility through conversation, not ads - You create reusable content (clips, quotes, reels) - You form real relationships with hosts and communities It's really a low lift, high visibility, and big authority energy to bring to your business or service. The Advantage of Hosting Your Own Podcast When you host, you control the narrative, and the ecosystem around your brand. Why it works: - You become the connector in your industry - Your brand grows through consistency and familiarity - Every episode builds long-term trust and discoverability - Guests often turn into collaborators, clients, or referrals - Your podcast becomes a lead generator, not just a show When you actually host your own podcast, youโ€™re not chasing visibility, youโ€™re creating it. By the way, the real growth happens when you do both:

I started in radio and on that short four year journey I learned so much, but the biggest lesson I learned was the power of your own voice. People tuned in every week and trusted me because I was on the airwaves. I went from radio to podcasting where there was/is so much more freedom. I have had the pleasure of hosting many podcasts and meeting some amazing guests. I have also been on the other side of that microphone and experienced the co-opting of trust that transfers to you as the guest. I find the independent nature of podcasting very powerful, as a host you get to uplift other voices, narratives and stories. Now I try to help others find their voices by helping them create their own shows. My path in life may have always been in entertainment but I know I would not be where I am today without the power of a podcast
Celebrate the Moments
My apologies as I have been missing the last week. Passion projects, like my indie sitcom Almost...Not Quite, can be all consuming and ever growing. Most of the time I stand in awe at the process and the amount of community support we have been given. I also spend the majority of my time chasing after it as I try to grow the team and fill the needs that come up daily. I am very happy to finally announce the principal cast. I feel confident in our choices and look forward to spending the next 10 months working side by side with them to create this story and project joy. From promotion to photoshoots to rehearsals and workshops, wish us all the best. And remember, always be grateful and keep creating.
