2023 Updates
Depending on your niche, the winter season for my gutter business slows down. However, this gives the perfect opportunity to work on systems and look at KPIs. This past month, we created a master book keeping excel from the beginning of opening up shop back in 2020. Key highlights: 1. Accounting is no joke, looking for one penny to balance the books has been quite the experience. 2. Knowing the numbers to your business is truly eye opening, instead of just operating mindlessly as I have 3. The health of the business is a reflection of your bank account

Value Vs Premium
Interesting topic for the industry: Value-based businesses are focused on delivering all services at the lowest possible price. Premium-based businesses are focused on providing the best possible service. In reality, these represent two ends of a continuum. Whenever I receive an objection based on price, I always respond: "The high price of a quality job is soon forgotten, but the price of a low quality job is never forgotten."

Building Business Systems
The remote contractor method was created to make more by doing less. From the moment you receive a lead, via online, in-person or word of mouth the goal is to give them the solution they came searching for through a well oiled money making machine. When I became a contractor, one of the things I noticed was the bad reputation that ALL CONTRACTORS tend to be labeled with. As I continued to build my gutter business, I began to refine more the reasons why we are given a bad rep, just like how car salesman have a bad rep. One of the main reasons is because we all have different values we base our trade or craftsmanship with. I can only speak from the niche I'm currently in "The Gutter Business". One example was from a customer that wanted new gutters, I priced fairly at $3600 and my competitor price at $1600. Now I am sure the job could get done at $1600.00 and it probably did, however it's that GAP that creates the uncertainty in the market place. Nevertheless, you must know your worth and from my experience because I have created systems in my business I could afford not closing this customer. My mentor once said this, which was a game changer "You don't get to the goals that you set, you get to the lowest levels of systems that you have" Systems work whether you are there or not. They serve as a process that you can follow, so that you don't have to think so much. Before implementing systems I used to get mental blocks because I was thinking of what I had to do in a given day, which resulted in wasting time and energy. However, if you have systems in place, the system tells you what you are going to do instead. Ask yourself, what can help Save You Stress, Time, Energy & Money today? Answer S.Y.S.T.E.M's! So why was I able to afford not closing that particular customer? I have created a system that allows me to measure gutters remotely, which saves me time, energy and money. Because of the system of measuring and estimating is so efficient and fast, customers love that they receive professional estimates with no delay same day.

Building Community for Contractors
Why am I doing this? At one point there is a level of income that you make that everything is taken cared for, bills are paid, credit cards are slashed, food is on the table for my family (wife and 1 month old), travel is amazing (living in Switzerland going to nearby countries) so I you ask yourself "What's next?" Impact is what is next in my journey, I've created a 6 figure a month business from scratch, using all the resources and knowledge I've gain with network marketing, social media marketing, restaurant service and sales experience. After 30 different attempts of making a living, I would have never believed that GUTTER contracting business would be the Remote Lifestyle I was searching for. I am here to serve, to help cut the learning curve, learn from others, and keep on GROWING!
