Turn cold calls into WARM calls w/ some LEAD LUBE
When it comes to cold outreach, it’s got one YUGE problem. They have no idea who the heck you are. Even with lumpy mail crushing it for us… There’s still that tiny window where the prospect opens the box and thinks… “Who the hell is this person?” Now… the letter does its job. The gift does its job. But imagine if they ALREADY recognised your name before the box even landed. My hunch is that results will be WAY higher. So that’s what we’re building. A LinkedIn tool that will automatically connect with your prospect BEFORE the gift arrives And start building that relationship immediately So when they open that package… You’re not a cold, nameless agency anymore You’re that person they just connected with :-) Now… 👉🏻 Some fun work for ya if you’re up for it? IF we know how to “lube up” leads… So MORE responses… And having them PLEASED to reply becomes a usual occurrence for us… Where ELSE might this “Lead Lube” strategy help? Dan

How Jonny BLEW an opportunity with a £150M+ biz owner
So I was chatting to Jonny earlier and he told me about a lumpy mail cock up a few years back. He was doing a bunch of work in the car auction niche and wanted to get more clients. Researched one of the owners of a major UK classic car biz. Big dog. Like £150M net worth big. Pulled his registered office address off Companies House… sent it out… and then nothing. Crickets. Had his number, so he gave the guy a ring - and he picked up! The problem was… He had NO idea Jonny had sent a bottle. The address on Companies House was a registered address but not a real office. In fact the bottle never turned up. If Jonny was a bit smoother, he coulda turned that cold call into a coffee date but he was already on a bad footing. Here's the lesson… Companies House gives you AN address. It won't tell you if anyone actually SITS there. Loads of businesses use a registered office that's just a legal formality. Usually an accountant's office or a virtual mailbox. Nobody's opening packages there. So you gotta gotta gotta verify it's a real, staffed workplace before you send. Don't just blindly copy-paste the public record. This is exactly why the Dream 100 Scorecard has a "right address" check — and why Topa flags registered-office-only addresses as a red flag. A bottle on the right desk = a coffee date. A bottle at a ghost address = an expensive donation to nobody. Verify the address FIRST. Dan P.S Jonny’s working on a live direct mail tracker that will auto flag all of this for you. So as you input the data and the system finds the lead… It will work in the background, cross-selling multiple sources to make sure that you’re sending them to the RIGHT office… where that lead is highly likely to work there. That’ll cut down any mistakes by FAR. (OR you could just get us to send bottles for you - peeps our DFY programme will get this benefit)

@Dan Wardrope We are working on it 😀
List building advice / filters
Since 40% or more of a campaign depends on the list, I figured building Dream 100 correctly is criticaly important. Besides # of employees / revenue size, what other filters should we be using? If we're going to use DBR or S2L, I assume the [approximate] amount that the business is spending on marketing is a big filter [since this allows us to have a list that's continually being replenished and the # of leads not being replied to is a big #]. If so, I've yet to figure out how to approximate this filter [approximate ad spend].

Hey Alex, good question... It's something I'm trying to find a solution to on the lead database... But for the moment I reach out to businesses who just have over X staff. For example, if your an insurance company with over 10 staff... you are getting leads. I would always encourage before sending a b2b gift to do some solid research anyway, for example short list some leads, look at their website - do they have a landing page, how many sales staff do they have?
