My thoughts don’t have to be this way.
Philippians 4:6-9 NIV “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” Our thoughts matter to God because they influence everything that we do and they affect how available we allow ourselves to be for God to shape us into what we were all originally created to be: people that look more and more like Jesus. There’s an intentionality required when it comes to our thoughts and where we allow our mind to “sit”. Sometimes it’s really hard to be mindful of how we think. But I hope this passage above encourages all of you as it continues to encourage me, that in every situation we can present our requests to God, and he hears us, big or small…even things like changing our thoughts and overriding lies we’ve begun to believe with the truths of his word. The God of peace is with you.
