Body work
20g steel on this old bmw of mine. Discovered a really bad repair that I couldn't let go before painting the car. Cut it out and got a new section from a doner. This is my tack welds at 35a on 20g. I let it cool and dont see any warping so I may go to 38a and see if I can get thepuddle faster.

Hopefully ill get a good fit and jump around letting it cool down as I go. There's enough material here to go at a decent pace and not warp it.
Custom go kart for the kids
Taking an old tractor style mower and making it a slammed drift kart. I have never owned a go kart or built one so im going to enjoy making this for me and the kids. Frame is 14 gauge square tube steel. 1.5" by 2.5" if I were to do it again id probably just do 1.5" square. Still need to buy the front wheels ans tires, going with a narrow 5". The rears are 8.5" and they look nasty with a 8" wide tire.

Mild steel
I dont often get to weld mild steel but I started a fun gokart project for my kids. Transforming a tractor style mower into a electric drift missile. Here's some welds from the subframe construction. I tacked it up with a mig and had plans to mig the entire thing but I ran out of gas so I switched to TIG and some practice. Not horrible but not great. The mig tacks really jacked up the cleanliness of it. 14 gauge 32nd filler 115a 12CHF 1.4/6 #6 cup Red tungsten

I ground it all off with a angle grinder. I want to say I was up around 120 and it may have been too hot. For mild steel am I still limited to the radius of the cup im using? I dont care about looks I just want a solid weld.
Stitch welding auto parts
I am replacing this section on my car soon. I know to jump around and let it cool so it doesn't warp. Wish me luck! I plan to use my mig welder for this job.

So I have been studying what to use. Basically the tig will give me a more workable weld and the mig will be a harder more brittle weld. My issue is i won't be able to reach it with a hammer and dolly to flatten it out.
Torch angle sch10
Why do so many have such an extreme Torch angle when welding sch10?
