The Faster You Respond The Easier Life IS
The quicker you respond to your messages, the more money you'll make. I learned this from my friend Harlan (@TheFiverrGuy_ on Twitter). Unless he's sleeping, he responds to all potential clients within 5 minutes. When I interviewed him, he noted this as one of the key elements of his success. And he's now earned over $1M on Fiverr. This became even clearer to me a few months ago when I was hiring a graphic designer. I reached out to 3-5 designers, and 1 of them replied within 3 minutes. He gave me a price, a timeline, and a plan for the project, and I hired him on the spot. We had an entire conversation within 10 minutes before most of the other designers replied. EVERYONE can contact leads faster and close more clients. This is even more important if your clients often need quick work, or if you offer low-cost services (graphic design, video editing, etc.), because some clients will hire you without a call. Which means you can close deals within 15 minutes via text... IF you respond quickly. The easiest way to do this is to have the Upwork app on your phone and turn notifications on. That's all for today's post. Cheers, Nico P.S. If you like tactical tips like this, check out our premium community. We keep our advanced course, proven proposal templates, and so much more in there: https://www.skool.com/upwork-outbound/about

Speed to lead is key: This is why I use AI agents to call all inbound leads literally within one minute of expressing interest
You’re probably doing these… And Upwork could BAN you for it
#1.) Offering to do Free Work For Clients If a client asks you to do any work for free, say no. It violates Upwork’s TOS and even if it’s a small test the client asks you to complete for free, Upwork could ban you. I have a friend who was banned from Upwork after earning over $30,000 because he offered a free trial to a potential client. Instead, simply inform the client that it breaks Upwork’s TOS and tell them to fund a small contract. Then tell them that the funds won’t be released to you unless they approve of your work. #2.) Sending Contact Info to Clients You can’t send contact info to clients unless you’ve already signed a contract with them on Upwork. No emails No phone numbers No external zoom meetings. This includes sending them anything that contains your contact info. Such as a google drive link with your portfolio, which also includes a way to contact you. If you want to schedule a meeting with a client, you can use Upwork’s integration with Zoom. (see image attached). #3.) Plugging External Tools into Your Upwork Account There are sites that automate the proposal applying process, these can get you banned from Upwork and are not worth the risk. Upwork doesn’t allow for ANY external plug ins. Avoid these things and you’ll safely close clients on Upwork. Cheers, Nico

I never do free trials anyways, only "immoral" thing I do on Upwork is use ChatGPT for proposals

@Madiha Amjad Yep, free work, the client isn't invested in it, and neither are you.

Welcome to our free Upwork community! This community is built for freelancers and agencies who are looking for help signing clients on Upwork. This is not a community full of clients. Do Not make a post asking for work -- We don't allow any self promotion. Instead, do these 3 things: Step 1: Make your intro post using this template Step 2: Start watching the classroom material (our free course) Step 3: Subscribe to my YouTube channel where I post videos about succeeding on Upwork: https://www.youtube.com/@NicoHessel/videos See you there! P.S. Watch this 5-minute video tutorial if you've never been on the Skool Platform before.

Hi, I am John. I offer AI solutions to service-based businesses - this includes AI Agents (chatbots and voice callers), automations, and Facebook ads. I am just starting out to find clients, but I am struggling because of the level of competition and saturation, which is why I have joined this community - find a way to beat all this and start getting clients.

@Nico Hessel Oh awesome, Shazm is a great guy and I follow his content! I will start recording and posting content like he does. Small world haha. I also have a big gap to fill in that market, since I have heard of businesses hiring on upwork for automations but it turns out they did an absolutely horrible job and had to hire someone else to do it properly.
