I recently did a fair amount of research when looking to purchase a new leather coat, and the advise was to ensure the fit prior to purchase, as leather is too difficult for the average tailor to work with. As Fernando noted, it will need to be someone who has the skills and tools to work specifically with leather.
AI and Fashion Advice
Cheers, Gentlemen, I see there's been a few posts about using AI for styling and fashion assistance, mostly around visualization of outfits. I have an AI prompt I use somewhat regularly to assist with putting outfits together. The key part of it, is that I provided a spreadsheet of my wardrobe that it can refer too. It referred to specific pieces while we were talking through my outfit for this evening, which was pretty amazing to me. In any case, I'm finding that AI has been helpful in offering advice on styling; both in steering me away from less optimal choices, and in confirming choices I've made are good ones. I would note that using AI is an iterative process - you may need to tweak the prompt to get it to output the information you are looking for in a way that's helpful for you. And it may take you several tries to get it right. It's also good to "test" the AI. Offer it choices that you are comfortable with, and that you know are good choices, and see how it responds. Offer it choices that you know are less optimal, and see how it responds. Or if you totally in the weeds, offer it some of Antonio's do's and don'ts. If the answers it gives tracks with Antonio's guidance, you're on the right track. For those of you using AI, how are you using it? Visualization? Fashion advice? Purchase advice? Something else entirely?

@John C I perused a post from Alex back in September that you left some insightful comments on. My outfit last evening was something I would have put together without AI, but my particular prompt also provides the rationale behind the advice, and it was helpful to have that feedback during the conversation. That commentary, as you noted, “sharpens intuition.” One thing I do need to research is the initial suggestion of olive green chinos, grey shirt and black sport coat. I never would have thought about that combination, so I’m appreciative of the opportunity to learn more about color palates.
Boots and Sports Jacket. Also pants. And a shirt.
Reckon the jeans could be a bit shorter. Overall I like it though. This was for a head shot session. Jacket and shirt by Indochino. Jeans are Wranglers. Boots by Luchesse.

Leather Jackets, Leather Boots
(Added photos as examples) Opening up a discussion on leather jackets. I’ve owned a couple over the years, and it’s time to add one to my wardrobe angain. Apparently if I’m fiftyish, I can rock a bomber. But at 60, a leather blazer is the thing. So bomber or blazer; that’s my first quandary. The second is color and material. I have black boots and brown boots, and I’ve heard I should match leathers. So suede is out then? And I have to decide if I’d rather wear my black boots or brown boots with a leather jacket, and choose accordingly? Life was so much simpler 30 years ago! Thanks gents!

Good morning gentlemen! After reaching out to Schott, it became clear that my best bet between the bomber and peacoat would be the peacoat. The sleeves on the bomber would have been at least two inches too long. I could have spent $85 to get them adjusted, and I did consider that. At the end of the day, my Navy service and that the coat shouldn’t need any adjustments won out. It will be summer in Texas for another couple of months 😂🥵, but I’ll try to get a photo when I first wear it.

I agree @Michael McDonnell that the leather blazer is a really specific look. I kinda like it, but I ain’t sure I'm Dallas enough to really pull that off. 🤠
