OOTD for All Hands
Had an all hands in Dallas last Thursday/Friday. For the ‘casino night’, I chose this Indochino suit and shirt, with Chisos Anniversary Texas Gator boots. The outfit got some attention!

Style Battle: Chelsea Boots vs White Sneakers (Pick One & Why)
You can only keep one. Option 1: Chelsea Boots - Clean, masculine, versatile, sharper look, works great dressed up. Option 2: White Sneakers - Minimal, modern, easy to wear, casual staple, works with almost everything. So which one deserves a permanent spot in a man’s wardrobe? Chelsea boots or white sneakers? Make your case: Which gives more value, more versatility, and makes the bigger difference in how a man looks? Bonus question: What age range do you think each one works best for?

I love my RM Williams boots, and while I don’t have white minimalist sneakers, I have a pair of Thursday Boots heritage sneakers in cocoa leather with gum soles, and a pair of Crown Northampton Sneakers in embossed black leather with white soles. I reject your premise, and substitute my own: You’ll get any of those from my cold, dead feet.

I spent a fair amount last year to get some basic upgrades to start my journey. I have my eye on some new boots, because boots! I have a backlog of items to get tailored. Aside from that, I’m in good shape. For now.

🤔 Probably a wool overcoat. That said, I recently purchased a leather peacoat. I figure that will look pretty sharp with my new Alligator boots. But the wool overcoat can be dressy or casual. I’m not sure a peacoat, leather or wool, can really be worn with a suit. I mean it can, but having worn one in the Navy, I’ll never not see it through that frame of a functional working coat. YMMV, of course!
Last Year’s Wins 🎉 This Year’s Focus 🎯
Gents, before we move too far into 2026, I want you to pause and look back intentionally. 1️⃣ Last Year Wins What’s 1–3 wins from last year you’re proud of? Doesn’t have to be massive. Progress counts — consistency, discipline, better decisions. Style upgrade you stuck with? A fragrance you finally made your signature? A watch milestone, collection refinement, or learning moment? A habit you strengthened, a distraction you cut, or a standard you raised 2️⃣ This Year’s Focus What’s 1–2 goals you’re deliberately committing to this year - not wishing for, but committing to? Could be... Sharpening your personal style as a form of self-respect Building a tighter, more intentional fragrance rotation Becoming more educated, patient, and disciplined with watches Showing up with more consistency - physically, mentally, and professionally Raising your standards in how you present yourself to the world Drop your wins and your focus below. Let’s build on what worked. And cut what didn’t!

Last year was the year I started being more intentional about what I wear. It was a challenging year professionally, but I persevered. And I finally got to visit London, and spend some time with a good friend in Nice, his hometown. Goals for this year are being more active and continuing my personal style journey.
