@Darlene Maurganne Mooney biggest thing I've learned over the past year is to start with whatever you can do consistently. It's kind of like going to the gym - it might be *ideal* to workout every single day, but if you've never worked out before that's a sure way to injure yourself and burn out. Even one open mic a week is infinitely better than zero. But once you get confident and comfortable you start to turn up the frequency to the best of your ability. On a good week I'm out 4 nights a week now. (last week wasn't a good week, was only out 1 night lmfao, but Tues-Fri is my ideal open mic week now)
