I do both. These comments are more directed to the residential side. Basically the way the industry operates. It’s unfortunate for all the homeowners. In texas a person can gain access to attics, and where 90% of those ducts are located, make corrections rather easily. For the homeowner it usually is a big bang for their buck. In the north. It’s not like that at all. Basements exist. From there is where 90% of furnace and all ductwork start. If left unfinished then most finish the basement as it adds SQFT and value. Instantly. Now the problem lies here is even worse. Now accessing the root of the problem. Well that is buy a new home attitude. You can remodel. The costs for the remedy are much to bear. I have done what I do best. After becoming an owner and wearing many more hats that I never have working for someone else. I see how easy the solution is. Unfortunately it starts at the design process. I can go about this for some time.

@Chappy- Patrick Carver I am not sure about what they do in cali. My assumption is they follow the rules of the ac. Much like in texas. It is not the same here in utah. I will post a couple of pictures of what I mean. One is a commercial building for big o tires. And the other is a home that was built about three years ago. My client is the second owner. The first sold at the two year mark. So the master is on the second floor. Top floor. And has its own ac in a closet that serves the second floor. The inly thing done right I might add. This is a picture of the master.
