The Ballerina Effect
I was coming out of meditation today and one phrase popped into my mind very clearly: You see, I was having a bit of a spilt in my decision to do something, I was really beating up on myself a little bit and just getting down in doubt and it was just the slightest of whispers “The ballerina effect.” I had never heard it before. So I looked it up. A ballerina doesn’t spin faster by trying harder. She spins faster by pulling everything inward. Arms out… slower. Arms in… faster. Same dancer. Same energy. Different configuration. Immediately I could feel what this was pointing to. You say you want something.... More money. A shift in your relationship. Clarity in your body but look at where your attention actually is. You’re in the desire…but also in the doubt. You’ve decided…but you’re still checking if it’s working. You’re moving forward…but part of you is watching, questioning, waiting. That’s not wrong. But that is energy spread out. That is arms extended and when your energy is spread across multiple directions, things don’t stop… They just slow down. Pull it in. Not by forcing. Not by convincing yourself, but by noticing: Where am I still divided? Where am I still holding onto something outside of what I’ve already decided? This is the part no one really says clearly...... You don’t speed things up by doing more. You speed things up by becoming less divided. The ballerina doesn’t spin faster by effort. She spins faster by precision. And once she pulls in— she holds it. That’s the stability. That’s the difference. You’re not waiting for your life to change. You’re organizing your energy around it.
