Application & Bridge
Why is application and bridge important? Why is it so important to do a self and brotherhood check in mid week? I used to find myself asking those same questions. One of the first things I came to realize is that my brotherhood helps me to stay accountable which is us all walking shoulder to shoulder. Then checking in with myself helps me continue to build myself brick by brick. These aren’t just words or an opportunity to fill your time, they’re an opportunity to help us continue to learn from one another, hold each other accountable, and build ourselves one brick at a time. BROTHERHOOD!!! Don’t waste this precious time in your life, make every moment in every decision count! Let’s get at it gentleman

Checking yourself I think is important and paramount. With life nowadays especially it's easy to get lost, take things for granted, then before you know it, time passes and you have gone nowhere. No progression. This community, this group, this brotherhood is special. Shoulder to Shoulder, Brick by Brick. Honored to call you Brothers.
Bridge and application
Thank you gentlemen for showing up, being vulnerable and sharing insights with others!

@Dennis Elliott Giant Slayers...I like that. You have such a way with words Dennis.
Integrity and Consistency
Really been thinking about integrity...A LOT. I've been questioning my own integrity...do I practice what I preach? Am I living my life with integrity, living and being consistent, even when no one's watching? How about those around me? Are they living with integrity? Am I surrounding myself with those that hold that same mindset? To answer the question of my own integrity, I will say yes...for the most part. I find that I can work on it, be more consistent and not feel as though I am a hypocrite, giving those around me the "wrong idea". I do feel like this from time to time, being a hypocrite, or not being at all consistent, but I can't worry about others, have to worry about myself, and keep living the way I have, striving to be a good person, a better person, and dare say...a good example....GASP! As I look in the mirror: “Waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be. Be one.” ― Marcus Aurelius Shoulder to Shoulder, Brick by Brick.

@Gary Hults Ha...love the analogy. Life often imitates art, and yes even baseball. Got to stop swinging for the fences, and stay on top of the fundamentals. Sometimes small ball is what wins you the game.

I say other because I feel that I need to have more confidence in myself and trust that things WILL work out in the end. I think that getting that belief and confidence will help the other fall into place.

@Gary Hults I suppose it is.
Lack of accountability
AJ had two helpings of breakfast and said, “It’s my fault, you told me it was okay as long as I’m aware.” Let’s be clear: Awareness is not accountability. Permission is not discipline. Understanding the standard is not living it. Accountability means: “I own my choices, even when no one is watching.” Growth happens when a man stops outsourcing responsibility and starts carrying it. No excuses. No blame. Just ownership. That’s how leaders are built. Brick by brick. Root by root.

Two helpings? I usually don't even do one...THAT BOY CAME TO EAT!!! Love the link you made. Took an everyday occurance, something we usually take for granted, and turned it into a lesson. We should all look at our situations, etc. and see what we can learn or accomplish from them...good on you guys, hope you're having a great retreat.

@Cliff Shuffler "Discipline and Standards are useless without the action". So true...how's it go? Faith without works is dead? Same difference.
