Do you do this in your games?
- Do you make a move for yourself and for your opponent or you only think about your moves and get shocked when you drop a piece or get checkmated?

@Coach Adam Yes sir... I do try my best here :) Biggest struggle right now is figuring out which move is best when I don't have a clear path. Typically, I try to make threats, so things are uncomfortable for my opponent. But, oftentimes I don't see good options for either me or them, and I'm just like "welllllp looks like it's time to push the a2 pawn!" But there is probably something better lol

@Coach Adam I’m really have a hard time playing as black. I seem to be constantly getting smushed in. I’ve been trying to learn caro kann but only have like 40% win rate. Any suggestions for a better defense at my level or just learn caro kann better?

@Adam Aziz thanks. I’m really not married to any particular opening. The puzzles on chess.com are too easy, except the daily puzzle Which is too hard lol
How are you trying to improve at chess?
- some players choose just to play and learn from their mistakes. - others do the same but also train tactics daily. - others do the above and consume educational content. - and some do all of the above. - which one are you? :)

@Coach Adam not sure… is there a way to look that up on chess.com?

@Coach Adam my last ponzioni game was solid! I think it’s an outlier. I’m just starting out with caro kann for lack of a previous strategy when playing black.
Stop Tilting
- many players lose over 50 ELO points in one day because they played more games than they should. - try to keep this rule in mind when playing, 2-3 consecutive losses and you're done, just stop playing!. - when you continue to play, you're not focusing on the game, you're focusing on getting your ELO back - the hunt for revenge and getting your ELO back never works and mostly backfire(losing more than 50 ELO points) - Tell me , when was your last tilting session and how did you deal with it ?

Can't say that I've tilted in chess, but I used to play a lot of poker in Atlantic City and the struggle is real. In those situations, I'd definitely get away from the table for a while. Usually, what I found was there was some physical need unmet which was contributing to the issue. So, I would get up, use the restroom, go for a walk, grab food and drink WATER. I'd also try to get my mind off the game for a while - text some friends, watch mindless youtube videos, etc. Then I'd come back with a clearer head and lose the rest of my bankroll.

@Coach Adam hahaha that’s how I roll . And yes, emotional regulation is key! I wish I could sacrifice a few IQ elo points for some EQ
