Hello Jesse, how have you been my friend? I was just reaching out to see if you took on a team yet. I think you had mentioned earlier this year you were possibly thinking about doing that.
Should Young Athletes Specialize in Soccer or Play Multiple Sports?
Many parents and coaches feel pressure to commit kids to soccer full-time by age 10 or 11 to stay competitive. Others believe playing multiple sports builds better athletes and prevents burnout. What do you think? Cast your vote and share your take below.

My oldest is 31 and he started his athletic journey playing multiple sports. Ultimately he played football all the way through to highschool D1. Watching him play, no matter what sport it was, gave me my greatest delight. When your child feels that delight, whether they win or loose, it ignites a passion in them for a sport that may carry them to the highest levels.

I have a question, now that my son is training more often, I’ve noticed he’s been dealing with being sore more often. Aside from the recovery tips you have given, are there any processes that you have used to help in shortening the recovery time?

Exciting Announcement: My Next Step in Coaching Education
Hey everyone, I wanted to take a moment to share an important milestone in my coaching journey. In less than two weeks, I will officially be starting my U.S. Soccer D License—the next step in the long and rigorous coaching education pathway. For those unfamiliar with the process, U.S. Soccer’s coaching pathway is designed to develop top-level coaches at every stage. The D License is a significant step that focuses on the tactical, technical, and psychological development of youth players in a competitive environment. It’s part of a structured system that leads all the way up to the Pro License, which is required for top-tier coaching roles. My ultimate goal is to continue progressing through this pathway, embracing every learning opportunity along the way. I firmly believe that great coaching requires constant growth and education. I invest in myself not just for my own development, but for the benefit of every player and parent in this academy. The more I learn, the better I can help the kids I coach reach their potential, stay injury-free, and develop a strong soccer foundation. My journey in soccer has taken me from playing at Azusa Pacific University to competing at high levels, earning specialized certifications, and now coaching youth and aspiring athletes. Every step I take is about improving as a coach, leader, and mentor to ensure that Elite Soccer Academy 24 continues to provide the best possible training and guidance. I appreciate all the support from parents and players, and I’m excited to share what I learn along the way. Let’s keep growing together!

The Power of Consistency
“You don’t have to be the best today, but you have to be better than yesterday.” Parents, progress isn’t about instant results—it’s about showing up, making small improvements, and staying consistent. The best players aren’t just the most talented; they’re the ones who commit to the process, even when no one is watching. Encourage your child to trust the journey, embrace the struggles, and focus on getting 1% better every day. Their hard work WILL pay off. What’s one small win your child had this week? Drop it in the comments so we can celebrate together!

I’m excited everyday to watch my son grow as a soccer player and a young man. This week was a big week for him. He has accomplished several goals that he set for himself about a year ago. He wanted to be a starter on his team and get to level 4 (DSF) at his futsal league. He accomplished both, which has boosted his confidence and it shows on the pitch!!
