Basics of color grading
Just a short introduction to color grading: where we suffuse an image with a given color. Really fun technique for landscape editing.

i would do two things: color grade would be useful, but I would also build masks on the two primary colors in the shot. calibration is really used if you want to generate a specific "style" or "look" to your images. the initial color palate isn't a big determinate.

@Shannon Stone I would to help you create that effect.
The difference between PS and LRC
Same edit done in both softwares. Enjoy.

The difference between PS and LRC
Curves edit
Here's an edit in LRC using ONLY the curves tool. I: • used the main curves portion and remapped the white point in, which brightens the image and stretches the histogram, adding contrast • used that same curves section to add more contrast • used the highly underrated color channels in the curves tool to add color, specifically more yellows and magentas • used the dynamic range portion of the curves tool to deepen the shadows. Curves is THE most powerful editing tool in any software.

In retrospect, I should have also brightened the highlights in the dynamic range portion of the curves tool. Lesson there: do an edit, then step back for a minute, return, and see if there's anything you missed,

each time you make an anchoring point you create a new point of adjustment and each subsequent point cannot change a previous one, so you can create tailored adjustments (we do this when compositing in PS a lot). but each time you make an additional point, the curves tool tries to feather to the others. if the edits get too large, the feathering can create some very weird effects. fewer points is easy to manage.
So... the hangout didn't record
I'm still getting used to hitting the record button for our hangouts and I messed up this time. So, does anyone want to do a make-up hangout some evening this week? I could do Wednesday or Thursday?
Should we add a hang out at a different time
Hey friends, as we grow the platform here, should I add or change the time of a hang out to a weekend or evening? I'll pin this post and see what works for folks. So far our Tuesday mornings have been really good, but I want to make the platform as beneficial as possible.
