@Brian Finch Would love to hear what is working best for you at the moment when it comes to structure and routines

Today Thur 8/20 I'm struggling with focus which is directly related to not getting the best nights sleep and hitting OrangeTheory for a 7am class...in all honesty I held back in the class and didn't give it my all because I knew I wasn't running on a full battery today. One thing that will help me recoup a bit will be to just lay down and close my eyes for 15-30 min...If I nap then added bonus but I can feel my body will need the break and its something I'm going to schedule in now so that it doesn't become an oversight later today.
Body Doubling: The ADHD Brain's Secret Focus Weapon
🔥 Body Doubling works. That's why were running 2 dedicated sessions every week Tue/Thur 11am EST. 🚀 So come join in on the focus, get shit done, and leverage your ADHD superpower. Links to the Body Doubling sessions can be found in the Skool Calendar. 🎯 Every time I do a body doubling session, I hit a level of focus I don't get very often. I'm able to make progress in areas I might have ignored and the group reflections after keep me locked in even more. 🧠 Why this works for ADHD brains: body doubling isn't just working near someone, it's borrowed structure. It kills the two biggest blockers we face, starting the task and staying in it, without needing willpower to force either one. You're not fighting your brain, you're working with it. 💪 ✨ ADHD isn't a deficit, it just requires we find what works and incorporate it into our daily/weekly routines.

@Damon Russell Great to hear this is an activity you and the wife can share in together. That guilt makes total sense, and here's the flip. Body doubling working for you isn't proof you can't do it alone, it's just how your nervous system is wired. Think of it like a car battery needing a jump. The car isn't broken, it just needs an external charge to turn over. Your wife is just providing the charge.

@Paul Nugent WOW...my brain is all over the place looking that "messy" desk...but the minute I swap pics I feel at ease...and the diffuser with the soft light is such a nice touch
Lesson 16: Stop Spending Tomorrow's Dopamine Today
Lesson starts at 3:00 PM EST Join here: https://www.skool.com/live/STlwC7fjYrK In this lesson I talk about: - Why some choices feel amazing immediately but end up draining your focus when you need it most - The Dopamine Tax: everyone pays it. Some choices move your life forward and others just cost you - Pay Now vs Later: what you actually get back for doing the hard thing first - Fast vs Slow: how quickly and easily the reward arrives, and what it's training your brain to repeat - Don't eat dessert before dinner: why the order you feed your brain changes everything - The Dopamine Audit: naming your first stimulation source and one thing to move

@Brian Finch Glad to hear you enjoyed and got some value from it. No escape from paying that dopamine tax. Following up on "getting systems together", curious what one system have you put in place that has been most beneficial for you?
