Who's joining our call this evening? Forget that it's tax day here in the US, and let's talk dragon boat! Especially as the season is just getting started for a lot of us. What camps are you attending, what races are you going to? The topics are endless! Hope to see you this evening!

One of my favorite wash riding moments. There were multiple clubs on the river practicing, because we are lucky enough to have that on our river. We joined together for some fun short race pieces. I was steering one of the boats for my club which happened to be our boat of Sr B and older women. We were the middle boat between a mixed crew of similar ages and a youth crew. We were positioned close enough to each other that as the middle boat I was using the wash from the other boats to help move us. All the boats were paddling at a moderate effort but not yet race pace. When the call for the race pace/effort was called I was able to use that was to help slingshot us and capitalize on the awesome power my crew had. It was fun to shoot up between the boats and then get the lead.
