🍞 BREAKING BREAD 🍞 This morning I found myself thinking about something simple: bread. I simply looked at a loaf of store-bought bread and realized that somewhere along the way, we turned four simple ingredients into twenty-three. That got me thinking about how bread has been used on Mediterranean tables for generations—not as the star of the meal, but as a companion to soups, beans, fish, salads, and family gatherings. So I dusted off my old bread machine, made a loaf, and created a brand-new classroom lesson called Breaking Bread. @Rachel Allie Do you make bread Rachel? It used to be intimidating to me. But the one thing I learned is to try it again until you got it. A bread machine is awesome and you can baked it right in it or drop the risen dough on a bread board-form it into the loaf you want, and put it in the oven for real crusty artesian. And oh...once you do it-you will never buy another loaf. Sooo good!

Hi Everyone I love these videos they are so informative. I have been on Weight Watchers for years and they also have the Mediterranean diet, but they don't give you the information that this program does. But, they do have a lot of Mediterranean recipes if anyone is looking for some.

Thank you Donna for the information. I know WW very well. They do have some nice recipes for this lifestyle. I just made a delicious ramen bowl tonight with jammie eggs and it was so easy. I no longer count points but I do find the recipes! Let me know if you are inspired to try anything you find in the course-I would be happy to post a recipe for something you're interested in. Ok. I'll be the first to share. I have been on a weight loss journey all my life. I have had my share of success and at a cost. Some diets put me into worse health than I was before. And some helped but it was the same old thing-I couldn't sustain it. That's why I started to listen to my body. And it said loudly-no more diets. And it works for me. I haven't gained it back, I lose and I stay the same, but it's my journey. So, I have lost over 78 pounds and it's taken me a long time. But...and that's a big but (not butt!) it has stayed off for the long run. I have my struggle days, I have my personal hero days that I feel I'm rockin' it. For the most part I have gained peace. Peace with myself, my body, and my spirit. I want to take you down that path of health, peace, and a sense of self that so many people are losing in this fast world. Hi Rachel, Welcome again! I'm so glad you're here and excited about your journey. This community will continue to grow, but its mission will remain the same: offering an alternative to the typical American diet and lifestyle. While we certainly have access to an abundance of fresh produce and healthy foods, many of us have simply lost touch with the habits that naturally support good health. My goal is to guide us toward a balanced way of eating centered around vegetables, legumes, beans, whole foods, and fish, while enjoying everything else in moderation. We can't—and shouldn't—strive for perfection. Being human means enjoying life, celebrating special occasions, and sometimes indulging a little. For over 50 years, I've been learning what works, what doesn't, and what truly stands the test of time. The people living in the Blue Zones have shown us that good health isn't found in a fad diet—it's found in a way of life. Together, we'll explore those principles and discover practical ways to bring them into our own homes and daily routines. I'm excited to have you with us! — Jo
