ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini?
The question I get at every time. And the honest answer is that they're good at different jobs. Here's the short version, based on how they actually perform right now: 1. Claude is the strongest writer. Tightest text, sounds most like a human, holds your voice, and it keeps track when your instructions are long or fiddly. Reach for it for captions, emails, reports, anything you'll publish. 2. ChatGPT is the best all-rounder and the best at images. If you want a picture made from a description, or you want one tool that does a bit of everything, this is it. 3. Gemini wins if you live inside Google. It drafts straight in Gmail, Docs and Sheets, and it's strong for up-to-date research because it's built on Google Search. One rule across all three: the moment you put business information in, move to a paid plan. On the free tiers your inputs can be used to train the model. The paid plans let you turn that off, and for anyone handling client work that matters (more on that in the data post). So I'm curious about this room. Which one do you use, and what for? And if you've tried more than one, what made you switch? The comments on this post will be a better guide than most articles online.

I started with Abacus originally that hosted all tools under one roof, but found it a bit overwhelming, so I chose Claude on recommendation. I am quite happy with the interface, and capabilities for $20 per month (that's the lowest paid plan) but want to explore other tools ie. ChatGPT's image skills.
One thing to test this week
If you've been in the room with us at First Light into AI, you know the habit: leave with one thing to test. This space is where that habit lives now. Every Monday I'll ask: what's the one thing you're testing this week? One tool, one prompt, one process change. Small counts. Then come back and tell us what happened. Post it even if it flopped. What went wrong is more useful to the rest of us than a polished win. I'll go first: this week I'm testing a LinkedIn skill I came across (a profile optimiser) - I will feedback how I found it.
Welcome 🤗
Who's in the room? Welcome in. Whether you've been to a session before or just found us, start here. Three things, in a comment: 1. Your business, in one sentence. 2. Where you're based. 3. The one task you'd hand over tomorrow if you could. That third one matters. It tells me what to cover in future sessions, and it tells everyone else they're in good company. I'll start: I'm Jitka, I run Marketiva & Northern AI Collective, I help small business owners get visible online, and the task I'd hand over is reporting. Your turn 👋
