It's been a few days since my last stitch sesh
Today I watched a few of the videos, but ended up deciding to stitch my own pattern on the edge of some lines I created the other day. Im enjoying taking it one piece of thread at a time. Today I used 2 pieces of thread. I find that 1 piece of thread is about 5-10mins of stitching. I like that way of working. I definitely feel alot calmer after stitching. What is everyone else up to?

Introduce yourself — tell us your First Stitch story
Pull up a chair. I want to know who you are. Drop a comment (or your own post) below with: 1. Your name and where in the world you are 2. How long you have been stitching (or if you are brand new) 3. One thing you want to make — doesn't matter how ambitious No wrong answers. I will reply to every single one, and so will this community. I will start: I am Danielle. I am in Australia. I learned embroidery from my Nana at 10 years old and I have not put the needle down since. What I want to make right now is a field of wildflowers on silk. One day. Your turn.

I have stitched in the past, but the habit never seems to stick. Now I'm committing to giving it a go! Haha lets see how we go. So i would say i've been stitching for 2 yrs :3. I want to make a tote bag with some cool mindful stitch patterns.

@Jen Maree wooo awesome to see you here Jen, super close to me! Have you stitched before?
Hey Everyone I'm James!
I'd like to learn stitching as a way to destress and unwind from the business of life. When I come home from work, I find myself reaching for my laptop to continue to work. I'd like to let the needle and thread bring me into a slowness. I'm very tactile and love to fidget. So I am excited to learn how to stitch. I live in Ocean Shores, in the northern rivers. I always see Danielle embroidering at home, so that's what brings me here. I am passionate about Massage Therapy and love to sing. An aspect of stitching that feels hard for me is sticking with the same project for a long period of time and also threading the needle itself :D. So I'm excited to work through these barriers.

Day 2 - running stitch
Running stitch felt good today. Could feel myself eager to stitch today. Finding it the perfect way to satisfy my busy mind into slowness. Outlined these red stitches with blue. I really enjoyed flowing. Dani challenged me to a spiral last night, challenge accepted... Not really sure what's happening on the left, but trying to let it unfold in the process and silence my perfectionist brain. See everyone tomorrow for the next stitch!

@Danielle Davidson thanks for that reminder
I didn't get to embroider today
Today we are on holiday and I didn't get to embroider, which I'm a bit bummed about. But I was thinking about the intention and energy that I stitch into the fabric as I'm doing it. I feel when I'm agitated I tend to make more mistakes and when I'm calm and a mistake happens, I calmly unpick the knot and move on. Has this happened to anyone else? I feel that when I eventually finish my tote bag with all of the emotions woven into the fabric I will know at least that I had the opportunity and outlet to express myself in that moment. I'm excited to create a tapestry of these emotions.
