Recent print project and tomorrow’s coffee hour.
Hi everyone, I’m sharing some pics of a recent printmaking project I did~ a relief print, repeat pattern of a flock of starlings on a silk scarf. Tomorrow is me and my twin sister Erin’s birthday! We are turning 54…oh boy. It’s going to be a FABULOUS year! I’ll be Live here on Skool at 3:00 Arizona time (MST), working on projects. Join the meeting and say Hi. Looking forward to chatting with you. 😊❤️

@Melissa Gill oh wow! Thank you for that, “small steps add up”.. such a good ass thing to start repeating to myself. And thank you for holding space for me and all the emotions behind losing the storage unit. We lost so much, monetarily when we finally got back into our own living situation I kept track of every receipt (kept saying I was gonna put them on a painting or something LOL) and in 1.5 years we spent a little over 20k to replace all our furniture and build up wardrobes for the 4 of us again and toys and kitchen ware and just everything. But you know what? The only thing I still think about all the time is the sentimental stuff. Couldn’t tell you what brand microwave or bedding we used to have but I can still remember the chosen outfits in each infant and toddler size I chose to keep of my daughter’s. All our art (my husband is also a fine artist not just a graffiti guru lol) art given to us by friends that have since passed. SO MANY SPECIAL PHOTOS. My husband’s parents had both unfortunately passed by the time he was 21, he has not a single tangible photo of them, only 2 pictures he took of the actual pictures of himself as a baby w his father. None of his mother. Our kids have never even seen a photo of her. I did once for maybe 4 seconds turning through a photo book. I have no maternity photos of myself pregnant with my first, my gift of a daughter. No first hair cut trimmings. All my journals- gone. My husband and I met when he was about to begin a 2 year sentence for a crime he did not help commit but did not stop from happening and then did not report upon. Joint venture for him. oh! It’s none of the nasty crimes you’re hoping it wasn’t !!!!! No violence, no weapons, no indecency, his ex was in active addiction and tried to purse snatch someone in broad daylight when he stopped at a red light. Even after witnesses reported they saw a woman jump out, grab the bag and jump back into the car& the man driving screaming at the woman to throw the bag outside of the car window before he would drive away, he never had a chance to beat the case. I share this because we never meant to fall in love or even be lovers. We met and became such powerfully connected friends and then as time went on, we realized- we were meant for each other. We sent eachother letters just about everyday.sometimes I’d receive multiples dated the same day. Sometimes I’d write pages and pages- always trying to use colorful or cute stationary. Once he came home I organized them chronologically, and I wish I had those so much. It was truly such a powerful tangible symbol of the love we grew together under what some would say was impossible conditions. I used to love to see all the doodles and mushy shit we’d draw eachother.
