🎉 Thank You for Joining Us! - One Question for You...
Thank you for joining us last night at the Château Laurier! We were proud to welcome so many individuals exploring what’s possible at the Ottawa Police Service. From civilian roles to communications, special constables, and policing pathways - the evening was about opening doors and starting conversations. Now we have one question for you: What was the number one thing you learned? Was it something about the application process? A conversation with a unit member? The 30 Forward Initiative? A pathway you hadn’t considered before? We would genuinely value your response. Simply reply in the comments and share your biggest takeaway. For those interested in becoming a police officer, and you are ready to move forward with the fitness test, remember: 👉 Send Cst. Abid Nasim an email at: nasima@ottawapolice.ca to secure your spot for March 7 shuttle run. You will receive an email with your timing, location and waivers. This is not a practice session - it is for those ready to apply. Thank you again for taking the time to invest in your future!

Thank you to the Ottawa Police Service for hosting such an informative evening at the Château Laurier. It was inspiring to see the wide range of opportunities available — from civilian careers to sworn officer pathways — and to have open conversations with unit members. One of the biggest takeaways was learning how specialized units like Human Trafficking and Fraud Investigations operate, and how officers can pursue those investigative roles after gaining frontline experience. Understanding the application process, the fitness requirements, and the long-term career pathways made the journey feel much clearer and more attainable. For those interested in moving toward investigative roles such as Human Trafficking or Fraud, the first step is applying to become a police constable with the Ottawa Police Service and successfully completing the recruitment process, including the fitness test. Once hired and after gaining patrol experience, members can apply internally to specialized units when opportunities become available. The evening truly highlighted that there are many doors within policing — and that with commitment, preparation, and perseverance, specialized investigative careers are possible. Looking forward to hitting some goals this year for level 7 then applying to the team Thanks Jessie main mancini
