It's easy to say "I'm fine." It's harder to say "I need help." "I'm overwhelmed." "This doesn't feel okay to me." But the more you silence your needs, the more you reinforce the idea that they don't matter. Today we begin rewriting that story. Your needs are not too much. They are sacred. A need that I have been silencing is admitting that I am lonely. Even here, within the safety of this community, it’s hard to say. So in the next few days, I am choosing to honor it by reaching out to people. To let myself be vulnerable and not think that it is being needy. Going to the library and the gym and starting conversations with people.

That voice in your head that says "you're not good enough"? That's not your truth. It's programming β€” installed by years of messaging, pain and protection. But you get to choose again. You get to rewire that inner voice into one that supports you. One that believes in you. My old inner voice said that I am bad at tech, that I am too old to learn new things, and that I will be overly dependent on my husband to help me with my setting up my new computer. My new inner voice says of course you can do it. Look at how many new things you have been open to learning during the challenge. Even if you struggle with it, you are becoming more resilient every day. You got this! I felt so proud. These exercises today were extremely helpful. To write down one critical thing and then to rewrite it as I were speaking to a beloved friend really brought me so much clarity about how destructive those inner thoughts are and how necessary to my wellbeing and growth it is to be aware in that moment to replace it with positivity and self love.
