The Mistake Everyone Makes When Choosing a Book Niche
Guys, I went through some of your questions and doubts this morning, and I want to share this with you. Remember: analyzing Amazon is very smart—but you also need to analyze TikTok, which is our main traffic source. As I mentioned in some comments, my best results came from capitalizing on emotions. I studied viral TikTok videos and created books around those exact emotional triggers. So basically, my book didn’t even exist on Amazon—I created it from scratch, had no real competitors, and built it around a strong emotional angle. That’s how I got some of my best results. That said, the smartest approach is a mix of both. First, you should absolutely check if there’s real demand on Amazon, like many of you are already doing. If you’re a beginner, look for something with low competition and solid demand. But then comes the second part: TikTok. You’ll be promoting your book through TikTok, so if you don’t know how to create videos or carousels—or if your content doesn’t go viral—you won’t get sales. Right now, we’re relying on organic TikTok as our main traffic source. So please, don’t ignore that side. Also, when choosing a niche, always consider your printing costs and royalties per book, just like Alberto explains in the course. If you have doubts, we’ll cover this in a live session. For example, if you’re thinking about entering the children’s book niche: I can tell you from experience it’s a great niche with huge potential. I personally ran a brand that sold very well in both Italy and the US. But I was making around $1.50 per copy. Why? Because children’s books are usually priced lower and require color printing, which increases production costs significantly. So before creating your product, do a proper analysis. Here’s what I recommend: - Find something that already sells on Amazon - Identify a unique angle to promote it on TikTok - Study both platforms, not just one - Check competitor pricing - Calculate your printing costs and expected royalties per copy
