I'm going to design a house for you - What do you want to see?
Hey guys, I had an idea for a new video where I'm going to record the screen of me designing a cob/natural home for you so you can see the process I go through. I want to hear some of your thoughts on what you'd like to see in a house design? - Size/square footage - Shape/rooms needed - Style - What climate it will be for? - Materials (timberframe, cob, hemp, etc) Let me know in the comments. Thanks!

I would be interested in how to go higher than one story, like to add a loft like many of the tiny homes. So maybe not necessarily two story? I feel like lofts add lots of extra space easily, but that is coming from someone who has not built a house. Also, interested in straw bale for a climate with hot summers and cold winters, moderate humidity. Thank you for all you do!
What style do you plan to build?
Cob, straw, and natural building methods can be used to build any style of structure. What is your preferred style of building?

Would you recommend a person take a basic carpentry course before taking one of your courses, if their goal is to build a home with the knowledge?

@Alex Sumerall that makes sense thank you!
Straw & Hemp Fiber Insulation Walls
I am as much an advocate for straw and hemp fiber walls as I am for earth walls. Natural fiber and earth have different properties, but deliver the overall benefits that people are looking for in construction. I'll be opening up my straw-clay course very soon. This class will cover in detail how to construct straw-clay and hempcrete/hemp-slip walls. Who's interested in these natural building materials?

Is straw bale construction and hempcrete the same thing, just different fiber?
Homework - Collect a soil sample and share!
Optional homework, of course! But I'd like to see what sorts of subsoils people have. You can watch the video attached to see how to identify clay-rich subsoil. This type of soil can be used for cob, adobe, rammed earth, earth plaster, and straw-clay mixes. Post your soil sample photos here!

Loam and silt here in Missouri!
Feedback - What instructional videos do you want to see?
Hi everyone, I'm going to be filling in any gaps within the Cob Building Basics course. What videos would you like to see added there? Let me know!

Perhaps electrical and water installation? I purchased your course but haven’t had time to figure out how to open the zip files on my Mac. This information might already be in there.
