💬 Today’s Camp Host Tip
Greet first, rules second. Before you point at signs or start listing check‑out times, start with something simple and human: “Hey! How was the drive?” That one question: - Lowers people’s guard so they feel welcome, not inspected - Makes the “rules talk” feel like guidance from a host, not a lecture from security When guests feel seen and cared for, they’re way more likely to respect the guidelines, the campground, and you. How do you open a check‑in conversation before you get to the rules?

Nice windy day!
I love the way the wind from a storm makes the trees sway and the sounds throughout the campground!

Totally agree, those stormy wind days are some of my favorites too. The trees moving and the sound through the campground make it feel extra alive out there… right up until we remember who has to pick all those leaves up afterward. 🤣😂🤣
Bike Parade
Host a Bike Parade & Decorating Party where families bring bikes, scooters, trikes, and wagons to a central decorating station stocked with streamers, balloons, ribbons, glitter, and craft supplies, followed by a gentle parade around the main campground loop with simple safety checks, traffic control, and fun awards like Funniest Ride, Most Colorful, Best Theme, and Family Effort. To boost community connection and photo-worthy moments, this event is easy to run with volunteers and perfect for all ages—would you try this at your park, and what prize category would you add?

Welcome to CampHost Central!
You made it! This is your camp‑host home base—practical tips, friendly support, and real‑world tools to make every shift smoother. What you’ll find: quick checklists, guest‑conversation scripts, safety refreshers, and honest Q&A. Kick things off: - Comment with your name, park/state, and your current role (host, aspiring, camper, ranger, owner). - Share one win or one “wish‑I’d‑known.” - Ask one question you want answered this week. Glad you’re here—pull up a chair by the campfire and say hi!

@Shari McLaws To answer your question on team structure, I view the hierarchy through three distinct lenses of responsibility: Managers: The operational "engine." They handle the P&L, vendor contracts, compliance, and high-level escalations. They ensure the business stays profitable and legal. Camp Hosts: The frontline culture-setters. Typically live-on-site RVers, they handle site turnovers, guest greetings, and "after-hours" presence. They are the face of the park’s hospitality. Specialized Employees: These are your skilled trades (maintenance/HVAC) and administrative staff who keep the tech and infrastructure running behind the scenes.
Grateful for Hosts Who Take Ownership
We want to take a moment to say thank you to every camp host who truly takes ownership of their campground. It’s easy to spot the difference—your dedication shines in every detail. From a spotless campsite and inviting amenities, to welcoming guests with genuine hospitality, your thoughtful efforts don’t go unnoticed. You’re the ones who go the extra mile to ensure campers have an unforgettable experience, and it’s your pride in the campground that sets the tone for adventures, memories, and connections. The results are real: - Campers return season after season. - Reviews are filled with praise for the special touches and clean spaces. - And most importantly—your love for the campground spreads, inspiring others to do the same. Thank you for being the heart of our community. With every sunrise and campfire, your ownership continues to make a lasting impact—and we couldn’t be more grateful. Tag a host you appreciate and share how their efforts have made a difference!

Cheressa, this is the mindset that makes all the difference! Treating guests as guests rather than just customers creates those memorable experiences that bring people back year after year. Your approach to owning mistakes and welcoming feedback shows real professionalism - that's exactly what turns a good host into a great one. Word of mouth really is everything in this business!
