I retired after more than 30 years in education. I thought I had a pretty good idea of what came next. I didn’t. 😂 Long COVID changed what I could do and how I could work. Some days it still does. And there’s something humbling about going from knowing what you’re doing…to figuring things out all over again. Maybe you know that feeling, too. Life changes. Plans change. Something you thought would work doesn’t. Or somewhere along the way, you realize you’re not finished yet. Somewhere in the middle of my own figuring-it-out, Todd and I found Skool. And we started building. No grand plan. We were learning as we went. Pretty soon, I became fascinated by all the other people here doing the same thing. People with an idea they believe in, trying to turn it into something real. Trying things that work. And plenty that don’t. 😂 Wondering why people join and disappear. Whether to change something or give it more time. Whether they’re doing too much, not enough, or simply the wrong thing. Building a business while also living an actual life? I understand that one. Todd started digging into the research. I started asking entirely too many questions. 😂 And somewhere along the way, Skoolology became our little community-building lab. We don’t have all the answers. We’re figuring things out, too. But we’ve learned that sometimes the best next move isn’t another strategy. Sometimes it’s slowing down long enough to understand what’s actually happening. At 60-something, I’m a beginner again. Some days that’s exciting. Some days I wonder what in the world we’ve gotten ourselves into. 😂 But I’m still curious. Still learning. Still building. And if you’re figuring out your next chapter while you build yours, too… I think we probably have more in common than you think. 💜
