💡 ACT Reading Trick: Why You Should Start with the Line Reference Questions
If you’re trying to get to a 30+ on ACT Reading, here’s one of the simplest switches that makes a massive difference: 👉 Start with the questions that mention specific line numbers These are called “explicit line reference” questions — they literally tell you where to look Example: "According to lines 24–28, the narrator feels..." This is gold. You don’t have to skim the whole passage. You just dive into the target lines and answer exactly what’s being asked. Why this works: - You anchor yourself in the text using facts, not guesswork - You avoid the trap of reading everything only to forget what you read - You build momentum early — especially helpful if you struggle with time Try it on your next practice test and see how it feels. You’ll know within one passage whether it clicks. Let me know below if you want help building the best order of attack for your reading style. I’ll guide you through it. —Scott
