🎉Live Call 8/8: ⁉️Hip issues for Scoliosis! (hip pinching, achy, etc)
⁉️Today's Live Class question: Hip Issues for scoliosis - front pinching, achy, etc - what can I do? The number one culprit is the weak GLUTE_CORE muscle. CORE Is not just in your belly, it's inside your glute! Check out the YouTube at 10:minute mark, you will be able to follow the exercise :) We are changing the format of LIVE classes, since most people have hard time making the call during the weekend/ summer, I will collect questions ahead of them and cover the questions every Saturday from now on! 🎉The workout: https://youtu.be/Ix93BuZ8-LQ 10:10 minute mark 💪Work with Me 1:1 Coaching (August is full, Waitlist for September) https://form.typeform.com/to/x9hYqGIu

Winner 7-day! 😍 - Mid Check
Intro
Hello, retired nurse and US expat living in the Chiriqui highlands of Panama. I learned I have scoliosis about a year ago and have been proactive in strengthening myself since then but fear my S curve is progressing. Looking forward to learning specific exercises to halt my progression.

On Average, adult scoliosis progresses about 0.8degree each year, for women over 40+, it can get expedited as the estrogen level drops. So it's extremely important to intervene with strength training and corrective exercise!

@Christine Bonnett yay!!!! Christine!! I love that you are sharing your results - what happened when you didn't do the exercise?
Concave vs convex
Please tell me if I am correct. The convex side of the curve needs some extra stretching, and the concave side needs more strengthening.

Yes, there’s some truth to that, but I wouldn’t think of it as simply “convex = stretch” and “concave = strengthen.” With scoliosis, tight doesn’t necessarily mean strong, and stretched doesn’t necessarily mean weak. A muscle can feel very tight because it’s actually overworking and compensating, while still not being strong or efficient. Generally, we want to create more space and mobility where the body is compressed, improve the rotation and alignment of the rib cage/spine, and then strengthen both sides in that more balanced position. The exact focus really depends on your individual curve and compensations. Hope that helps Christine!
