He spit in my face but crochet showed me how to heal.
What advice would you give to someone recovering from trauma who is picking up crochet project to try feel better ? 💫"Three years ago in the month of November a lad in his late 50s spit in my face because he does like black skinned people. I felt stained and dirty for a while, I hated my reflection in the mirror, all i could see was a dirty me"✨ The Month of November became very difficult for me face and go through. I try to focus on the birthday of my boy, to get me through the month but it still hurts. 🥺

@Reachel Nabirye 🧡 Are there places that you can go for help where you live?

@Reachel Nabirye I'm so sorry
❤️The love and crochet
Pick up your hook, choose your yarn, and let your heart lead the design. Because crochet and love? They’re truly inseparable. ❤️ What’s the most meaningful piece you’ve ever crocheted or bought? Was it for someone… or maybe for yourself? #CrochetCommunity #HandmadeHealing

I made some horses for my kids when they were young during the first year after I learned to crochet. Each of the younger kids got one after they were born. The older plushies I made 13 years ago, and they are a little bit shabby now. But I love that my kids still have them and love them.
Crocheting on mindfulness
In which ways can crocheting be a form of meditation or mindfulness for you, and how does it shift your perspective on embracing self-love?

It is very grounding for me, mentally and emotionally, which is something that I really need. And creating things with my hands is so rewarding. I just feel so happy in that moment that I can see what I wanted to make coming together, and I know that it is actually going to work. Sometimes I like that even better than finishing the item (though once I get there, it is so much easier to move it out of the WIP pile to the finished pile.)
Little something about the nerd thing
💫Why nerd? Someone asked me the reason why of all nicknames around, Ichose being a crochet nerd. ✨My response was; Because i fell in love with my true self and realized I am unique. 💥So as you see, thats the reason why I am an ambassador of selflove and use crochet to advocate for it. If I found my purpose, you will even do better 💝You are welcome to the Selflove and crochet.
