Opportunities that you get ONLY from posting content online 👇🏻
Got invited to the creator-only virgin voyages cruise this week. All because of posting content online. Didn't have to pitch anything. Didn't fill out an application. Didn't send a bunch of emails. This changed how you think about what building online actually means. Here's what this week looked like: 1. Working alongside Fabletics, PATH, and Insta360 2 2. Working in the middle of the ocean kinda epic. 3. In rooms I'd never have gotten into by just "being a business owner." Nobody really shows you the opportunities that LinkedIn and social media open. People flex money, leads, followers, revenue, and all of these things (which is cool for the business of course). But it's important to look at what consistently builds over time as a business owner creating content. If you're building here on LinkedIn, you have the opportunity to: - Work with brands you use yourself. - Get brand deals you never applied for. The opportunity you can't see today is already forming. Get after it!! Alex

So cool to see!
You need to be consistent on LinkedIn (and Skool). Let me explain ⬇️
Happy Monday LinkedIn friends. Alright, let me explain the importance of showing up. 1. First on LinkedIn with your posting, engaging, and DMs. 2. Second here on Skool with our community. Showing up is the hardest thing about social selling and building a brand. 99% of the people I interactive with will disappear in 30-60 days. This is what happens when you don't stay consistent and have zero drive in what you're doing. Results happen first with showing up. Whether you want to or not. Whether you feel like it or not. Or whether you have things figured out or not. Just show up here. This is my challenge for you: Show up on LinkedIn daily (1x post OR 10x comments OR 5x DMs). Bonus points if you can do all three of these tasks every single day. Show up in our Skool here daily. Interact with posts. Share your ideas, what's working and what's not working. Ask questions. I'll be handing out more prizes for active people seeking growth. Let's grow together my friends. Alex out!

@Alex Colhoun i actually feel really validated that your feed sucks as well (i thought it was just me) 🤣- so you have your custom list and just go to those creators directly?

And thank you so much for your advice on this!
Adding connections - do i add everyone?
I am building out a newsletter and using Linkedin as the primary to grow. I get connection requests but I'm not sure if these people are my ICP ( a lot of them are new grads from college which is not who I am targeting). Should I be accepting these requests or should I only accept (and add) people who I feel are my ICP.

@Alex Colhoun I have a follow up to this - i am pre-launching a workshop to my LI audience, the workshop is targeted towards mid-senior level engineers but I am getting a lot of early career engineers engaging with my content and sending connection requests. They aren't my original ICP (since they are more price sensitive) but im not sure if I should pivot accept their connections since they seem to be interested. This workshop is just an offer I am testing out - depending on how it goes is whether i will expand on it.

@Alex Colhoun That's helpful I also didn't want to let the inbound go to waste either!
It took me 250 days to reach 10K followers and 300 LinkedIn posts.
Another 250 days to reach 17,000 followers. Another 250 days to reach 25,000 followers. Another 300 days to reach 40,000 followers. If I gave up the first time: 1. When things got hard. 2. When results slowed down. 3. When I got super bored... I would never have gotten to the same results I have today. There will 100% be MANY good parts while building your business, but also TONS of downs throughout the process. It's NORMAL. What's worked for me is quite simple: I slow down. I'm quick to listen and slow to speak. Below this post, drop the following: 1. A screenshot of your LinkedIn profile (with followers/connections) 2. How often you're posting on LinkedIn right now 3. What your goals are the next 3 months I'll also provide profile audits for those of you who need some strong feedback on your brand. Alex

I Post 3x a week - consistently since the start of Jan 2024. My goal is to grow my newsletter (I use LI as a top of funnel) to 500 subscribers in 3 months
