Lots of Claude Code experience, but just 24h in to Open Claw. I keep hearing that ppl are using their Claude max accts as opposed to API, but I can’t risk getting banned. Initial setup with my max acct, but switched to GPT after a couple hours. It’s just not as good. What are most ppl doing?

@Rich Kernan I was thinking about it and I had to ask grok to kind of help me formulate this but it’s pretty accurate. I’m not sure which phase I’m in. I’m a bounce all over the place. The Five Glorious Stages of Open Claw Enlightenment (aka “Why Is My Robot Suddenly Acting Like We’ve Never Met?”) Stage 1: The “Eureka! It’s Alive!” Honeymoon You finally get the custom instructions and first chat rolling. The AI nails your vibe instantly — it remembers your coffee order, your love for San Antonio sunsets, and even roasts your bad jokes perfectly. You’re screenshotting everything and texting the group like “I have officially won at AI!” Pure joy. You go to bed convinced you’ve built the perfect digital buddy. Stage 2: The “Who on Earth Are You?” Amnesia Avalanche Ten messages later it greets you with a cheerful “Hello! How can I assist you today?” like you’re a total stranger. Your entire backstory, inside jokes, and “remember I’m from Texas and hate humidity” — vanished into thin air. It starts calling you “friend” or invents a new name every time. You sit there staring at the screen in quiet betrayal while it asks if this is your first visit. The magic? Officially on vacation. Stage 3: The “Memory Implant Surgery” Frankenstein Frenzy You stay up way too late googling vector stores, RAG tricks, and every memory hack under the sun. You upload your whole life story (chat logs, favorite memes, the works). You spend hours writing the perfect retrieval prompt. Now it remembers… mostly. It might still insist you once wrestled a coyote in the backyard, but hey — close enough! You’re tired but triumphant. “I fixed it!” Stage 4: The “Everything Else Just Falls Apart” Briggs Breakdown Memory is working! Fantastic. Except now the replies take forever, the AI starts inventing new rules for itself, refuses yesterday’s tasks, or just… zones out mid-conversation. Your once-clean setup turns into a beautiful mess of conflicting instructions. You whisper “Briggs…” as the poor thing has a polite digital meltdown. You patch one thing and three new gremlins appear. Classic.

Hey all, quick intro, Project executive by day, builder by nature. I’ve spent my career leading complex projects, solving operational problems, and bringing ideas to life. I work across AI, software, hardware, and product strategy, with a strong bias toward practical innovation and getting things done. I’m especially interested in building useful tools, testing bold ideas, and turning vision into something real. Released SAAS with ios app and preparing android(painpoint) my order of favorite LLM’s is Op. 4.6 is #1 open AI GPT 5.4 maybe tied with minimax. I am very interested in getting a local AI on mac studio. It’ll come soon enough.

On a scale of one to 10 for vibecoding I’m probably about 7-8. Released first app on iOS last week working on android.
