AI Helps Marvin the Mole Come to Life
AI has allowed a 20-year love of writing come to life with my Marvin the Mole Childres's book collection. Three books are finished in 9 months. Illustrations are complete and being well received. I was able to build a publishing company from the ground up with being able to ask many "how do I do this?" questions in AI. The most current round of instruction prompted me to explore the world of music to help market the books. It has been an amazing journey.

Using AI for the illustrations has allowed Marvin to become real. I know there is much discussion in the book publishing world regarding AI aided illustration vs. hand-drawn human artwork. I have been able to build an AI library of images for each of the characters. This includes things like facial features, standing, sitting, different clothing. Having a library for reference photos allows me to maintain consistency in the characters from book to book. One of the objections to AI artwork in publishing is the inconsistency. I think I am able to mitigate this concern. The other big concern is having AI artwork as a child's first introduction to art. I have worked to retain a consistent "feel" by staying with a line drawing with watercolor description to help provide some similarity and quality to the book images. The other big issue is that illustrators will need to transition to these tools. It is not a replacement of people but a willingness to embrace the technology. I think professional illustrators will be able produce high quality images at all levels of publishing. There will always be the desire for original artwork in various medium types. Using AI tools will allow professionals to do more with some very exciting results.

Marvin the Mole is Alive!
For 20 years, one character stayed with me. MARVIN the Mole. The stories were written, the vision was clear. But one thing held me back: Illustrations. For years, it felt out of reach. Until AI. AI Animation Tools
Continuing to work with AI animation tools. These tools are amazing. Book #3 is now finished. AI tools for illustrations have made this come to life.

Helpful for a Senior?
My wife and I are in our 70s. Yes, yes, yes. This program has allowed us to do more, experience more, and contribute more. It allows us to grow with our Grandkids as they grow into a new and ever-changing world. Never stop growing and learning.

@Cheri Carter My wife and I have been doing an online photo class for about 9 years. It has been a challenge and a blessing. It keeps us engaged in a new activity as well as something we do together. We get challenged learning new things... but we work through it and it is rewarding and an accomplishment. The class has also offered an AI segment which was really fun. A couple of AI images using Adobe Firefly.

Day 2 - Amazing
I did some experimenting with animation after the session today. The images are from the 3rd. book sent to the printer today. It is hard to imagine how much time has been saved with AI. The Route 66 books have been placed in shops and gift store locations in Kingman, AZ. I set up a regular business with the help of AI. There is a lot to do for business license, banking, tax reporting, etc. My AI co-pilot was helpful in many areas of detail. I also created a website for the self-publishing company I set up, including e-commerce for the sale of the books. Plus, I have joined the local Chamber of Commerce and have been participating in social and sales events. It is amazing as this has all been done in about 6 months with the help of AI. My first documented notes on Marvin date back to 2005. So, this has been a journey. AI has really opened everything up with being able to do the illustrations myself.
