Safe Space Confession: I'm afraid of outreach
Posting this here because it seems a safe space and I think if I confess it publicly I can exorcise it, I almost quit an idea I that I already built a working web application for to help restaurants market locally. I heard Alex when he said to not chase a new shiny piece of metal when it gets hard. Fact is I have something to sell and I can feel the next step of even sending outreach emails to my friends who are restaurant owners to help me polish the app with feedback has paralyzed me. I even have the email copy crafted and looks great to me. I can see pretty clearly this is what has stalled all my own ventures in the past. It's either fear of rejection or fear that my idea isn't good enough. I even know the answer is to just send it and find out. Not sure this is a question, just wanted to confess.
When is it going to FEEL like I made it??
One of our members shared that it is frustrating that making, saving, and growing money takes so long! I definitely felt this one. Most of us don't make our first million overnight. It takes time to build that bag. So when do you actually FEEL like you are winning? I think the key is to set smaller goals and celebrate the wins along the way. What's a small goal you have right now that you think you will check off this year?

I feel like I'm winning whenever I'm making progress. I have enough, I want more and that may never change. I've had a bit of a setback from a failed franchise restaurant I bought and ran over the last two years, but I survived without loosing it all. Now to find firm footing and grow again.

@Rory Piontkowski “Yes, but I have something he will never have … enough.” Joseph Heller. I think it doesn't just have to be lifestyle that changes could just be you want to do more, or something else, or something bigger, now that you had time to think.
💸 Why Does Money Seem to Go Faster Than It Comes In?
Hey everyone! Daniel here. One thing I’ve noticed (and I bet many of you have too) is how money seems to leave our hands quicker than it arrives. 👉 Paycheck comes in, bills, subscriptions, “just one Amazon order,” eating out here and there and before you know it, it feels like money is sprinting away while income is jogging behind. I’m curious: - What strategies have you used to slow that “outflow”? - How do you stay disciplined when spending feels easier than saving? - Any mindset shifts that helped you get control? I’d love to hear your thoughts! Let’s figure out how to make our money work for us instead of running from us. 🚀

Saving at least 10% of your income is not optional. (Barring emergencies, but there are tools for that too) Automatic payments to investment accounts make the most sense to me, liquid accounts allow you to move it to other things easy enough. There is always the save for later in your amazon cart. There is a lot you can do to change your behavior without feeling like you are giving up something, such as a potluck with friends vs eating out. You can buy the wine and cook the food, just not pay restaurant prices. Save the eating out and the purchases to reward yourself for accomplishing a milestone that moves the needle forward. Also as a PS, if you don't have a getaway or entertainment saving plan, I'd suggest one, $200 a paycheck goes into one for me that can be used for vacations. Going on bigger more exotic getaways (not necessarily more expensive) can make forgoing eating out in between the big spendy experiences easier.
