The Power of a 5-Star Review
This week, I posted information on vendor tipping and even was inspired to create a PDF of suggested Wedding Vendor Tips. In keeping with that theme, I thought, what if you were tapped out, and still wanted to show appreciation.....The Online Review!! It's free, and is some would say worth more than that sealed envelope! Below is some notes on what it means to give and receive the review. I think I will put together some templates for you guys on what to say, just in case you're not exactly the wordsmith that some of us are! Anyway, enjoy and feel free to share, comment or give a thumbs up! I know planning a wedding without a planner can feel like juggling rings, ribbons, and RSVPs all at once — but you’re doing it, and doing it beautifully. 💪 Along the way, you’re working with vendors who help bring your day to life — the florist who nailed your color palette, the photographer who caught that teary-eyed first look, or the DJ who got your cousin doing the worm (again). Here’s the thing: when you take 2 minutes to leave a 5-star review for a vendor you loved — it makes a HUGE impact. Not just a “cool, thanks” kind of thing! It literally could mean: 💫 More bookings from other awesome couples like you 💫 More visibility in search results (because yes, stars matter!) 💫 More confidence for future brides and grooms who are just as nervous as you were at the start Think of it like this: A 5-star review is like your final “thank you” hug — the kind that lingers, the kind that says, “You helped make our day what it was, and we won’t forget it.” And trust me, small wedding vendors feel that love in a big way. Most of them are out here building their dreams just like you’re building yours — review by review, referral by referral. So when the cake’s been eaten and the dress is hanging up... Before you return to real life, take a sec to leave a glowing review for your favorite vendors. You don’t need to write a novel. Just share what made them special. It’s free, takes barely 2 minutes, and helps someone else plan the wedding of their dreams — just like you did.

Yes! Reviews are so powerful! Also, if you were not 100% satisfied with them, I’d tell them honestly in a private email or conversation rather than leaving a less than 5star review. Once you have a less than 5, they lose this perfect rating forever. Your honest feedback about your experience, is valuable to them. You can even leave an honest experience online, but maybe still give them 5 stars, if in general, you liked the small business, but maybe there was one thing that wasn’t perfect. As a small business owner myself, those reviews mean everything.
