Interview Question/Answer Study Group
Howdy, We discussed a topic during the career mastermind session today, and wanted to share with all in the Flo Collective Community. Thought it could be helpful for some (or all) in this group to have a weekly interview question/answer study group. The idea is we'd identify a list of 8 to10 or so questions that we'd work through over several weeks. Would probably have time for each person to practice at least 2 question answers and receive feedback each week. Like or comment on this post if you'd be interested, and I'll begin to facilitate this activity. Let me know if you'd be interested in assisting w/ facilitating the group as well! Resources we'll use/reference: Win With the What, How, and Proof Technique: https://www.skool.com/flo-coaching-4238/classroom/842561c2?md=795c4df123b64f0fa0b532ec8279c52c What, How, and Proof Technique Document: https://docs.google.com/document/d/15NOJNBTZd5wA9iTqvwJGeEikSuN0GfulTqIon8FvUcE/edit?tab=t.0
10/10 Friday Career Mastermind session
Just wanted to say a quick and huge thank you to all of you who took the time to show up today for the kick-off of the Friday Career Mastermind session! I forgot to record it (hey, it's my first time doing this, 😂), but I will do so next time so that any of you unable to attend can watch the replay. As we experiment our way into figuring out what the best format is for these, here is what we came up with for next week's session: We’ll start by going around the group for quick introductions — just your name, what you do, and what you’re working toward right now. Then we’ll share quick wins, dig into one member’s real challenge, and close with clear next steps everyone can apply. Format (60 minutes) - Quick Introductions — 6 min - Quick Wins + Stuck Points — 6 min - Hot Seat Setup — 2 min - Clarifying Questions — 8 min - Advice Round (Hot Seat listens) — 12 min - Commitments + Actions — 6 min - One-Word Close — 4 min - Buffer — 4 min And as a reminder: This mastermind works best when everyone feels safe to share honestly. What’s said in the group stays in the group. We focus on curiosity, not judgment; ask questions before offering advice. Keep feedback constructive and concise. Listen to understand, not to fix. Everyone gets time and respect. These agreements help us build a space where real challenges and breakthroughs can happen. No prep required, just bring one win and one challenge you’re facing right now. We’ll decide who’s in the hot seat at the start of the call. Join ready to listen, think, and help each other get unstuck. Comment IN if you’ll be there.

Would be helpful to have a "study group" who focuses on interview questions - preparation/presentation. Might be structured with a total of 10 or 12 more challenging/common interview questions to start, and the group does 2 of them each week. They'd meet online and each person would have an opportunity to present their answers as if they were in a real interview setting, and then receive feedback from all.
What do you hope to get out of this community?
Seriously, what do you hope to get out of this community? This space was built to support you through the ups and downs of career transitions. But I don’t want it to just be my vision — I want it to reflect your needs, challenges, and goals. What do you most hope to find here? - Encouragement and accountability? - Networking and referrals? - Tools and resources to land your next role? - A safe place to share your story? - Group masterminds to learn and grow together? Your answers will help shape how we grow, what resources we create, and how we support one another. This isn’t just my community — it’s our community. Because we're all in this together! So, what do you hope to get out of the Flo Career Support Community?

You might be feeling stuck, overlooked, or uncertain about what’s next. You’re not alone, and that’s exactly why this community exists. What We Do We help high-achieving professionals and leaders: • Make successful career transitions that rebuild confidence and reignite a sense of purpose • Clarify their direction and redefine success on their own terms • Develop leadership presence and executive resilience • Create careers that feel purposeful, sustainable, and fulfilling Our goal isn’t just to help you change jobs. It’s to help you create career peace, that state where your work, values, and energy finally align. Less struggle more Flō! Why Listen to Me? I don’t have all the answers. But I’ve walked this road myself — and I’ve coached hundreds of professionals through it too. - Helped clients go from “invisible” to indispensable in their organizations - Guided mid-career professionals into leadership roles after months (or years) of feeling stuck - Supported career changers through pivots they once thought were impossible - Helped burned-out leaders recover confidence, purpose, and fulfillment in their work What I’ve learned over the years is simple: When you stop trying to fix yourself and start building from who you truly are, everything changes. That’s what this space is about — rebuilding confidence, direction, and fulfillment from the inside out. How This Community Works This isn’t just a forum. It’s a practice ground; a place to connect, share, and grow alongside others who get it. Howdy, I’m JB, and am looking forward to participating with this community. I have over 25 years of experience in mountain resort and community recreation management/leadership. Some strengths include: - Facilitating exceptional guest experiences - Fostering vibrant cultures/cultivating teams/professional development/mentorship/recognition programs - Recreation programming/special event development/administration - Forward thinking, innovative, and prudent planning with capital improvements - Creating/leading educational clinics, workshops, seminars, community presentations - Ability to adapt and blend private and public leadership/management approaches I'm currently located in Latrobe, PA (grew up close to this area). For about 8 years have been in executive level resort leadership roles, and most recently was the GM for a special recreation district in CA. Previously owned/operated 2 business ventures: #1 – x2 indoor, high-tech, golf learning centers - #2 – fitness/coaching services focused on mountain athletes. Regarding job situation, am actively searching for a new role. Just over a year and a half ago, I resigned from my job in CA to care for a family member. In theory, have been ready to resume my career for about 10 months or so, though began the job search earlier than that. I’ve had several interviews, and some final interviews, but haven’t crossed the finish line just yet. It would be awesome to be able to help folks in this forum; whether it's communicating best practices, sharing experience, connecting through my network, etc. Would also be great to hear about potential jobs that may not be advertised, or through someone’s network, be connected to an opportunity, etc. No .gif's, so coffee photos will have to do for now, and one that could be aligned with work. Also, not my preferred workspace arrangement, but don’t have many options right now… Connect with me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/coachjb/
