How Did You Get Interested in Strongman Comps?
I've always been interested in and fascinated by strength since I was 5 or 6 years old. Whether it was from watching "Hercules" type movies with Steve Reeves, learning about Samson from the Bible, or through comic book superheroes, getting bigger and stronger was a huge goal. I've never really been what I would consider exceptionally strong, but the fascination has remained. The first 'Strongman" competition I saw was on television when I was in college. I think it was CBS that aired their new show, The World's Strongest Man Competition. Even though my college gym was mostly football players and competitive powerlifters (one of whom went on to win the World Games in 81), by then, I was obsessed with bodybuilding. The fact that 3 of the competitors on that first show were well-known bodybuilders (Lou Ferrigno, Franco Columbu, and Mike Dayton) was more than enough to get me hooked. I've attached a video highlighting that competition. How did you get interested in strongman? Is anyone here planning to compete in or attend any of Jayson's shows this year? @Jayson Wigney

I have been WATCHING WSM (worlds strongest man) since 2005. Maybe even before that. I started DOING STRONGMAN since the glorified flu shut down all the gyms and i had to find a way to workout. So picking up rocks and pulling cars was what i had. I eventually collected enough equipment to open my own gym and eventually hosted my 1st Strongman comp. 5 years later im still putting on comps and still raising money to fight cancer. This year's Pulln4you strongman events OR Sept 5th Manteca ca oct 3rd Redlands ca oct 17th AZ Nov 7th If you ever wanted to do strongman or see it live, come out and see us and support us Spectators are free
