@Jerry Wilson I have been targeting 50% and higher, that has worked really well so far. I’ve have a few exceptions for higher asp or more unique items
Storage Units - my experience
I have a new source that will call me when his customer is at 91 days unpaid. I look at the unit and give an offer. I touched base with my CPA and asked some questions. If I buy a unit that has some items that should be thrown out or are not what I want to list, can a percentage of the purchase be written off? Yes Should I record the mileage from the unit to the dump? Yes Should I determine what an item I want for office supplies is valued, and then write it off? Yes What I like about storage units is the variety, finding vintage items, and knowing that it all goes towards COG, cost of supplies needed, and mileage to help my STR and taxes. Here are some gems I have found. Vintage pedestal Bose speakers, vintage turntables, new dishes in packaging, great STR clothing, records, cd, cameras, the totes the items are in, NIB window treatment, purses, shoes, bed sheets and comforters. I like to be an everything seller with over 50% of my items being clothing, purses, hats, and shoes. A storage unit is perfect. One stop shop. You just need the patients to go through it all, clean up many items, a trailer to haul it, and storage for everything you decide to keep.

When you initially started with storage units what was your method of finding and buying them
What is best?
What is best, Four really great photos of a pair of jeans, or 12 okay photos of a pair of jeans? Which do you think is more important, and why? This would assume that there are no flaws. Four photos being Front, Back, Close Up, and Tag.

Using AI in the Wild for Sourcing
This is the video from tonight's 3rd AI class. In this video we go over how to take the power of AI with you while you source. Ask before you buy if the item meets your metrics. Know before you buy by simply asking the question of your favorite AI tool. Artificial Intelligence in the reselling community is new to most resellers. However, it won't be for long. You need to get ahead of this wave. Your competition is.

These videos are so helpful. I used a few of these tips to help listing gonna attempt to use this with sourcing later
Should I only target 70% STR will starting up
I am still pretty new to this reselling this and I am noticing that my sales are slower than I would like. Just wanting to pick some brains about what is your threshold for STR in the beginning and how that has shifted over time.

@Jerry Wilson Thank you so much for answering my question. I went out today and found out the the 75% is a rough this to do just trying to do that I will spend more on gas than I will make. I think I will need to drop below that to break even. If you have any tips on that I would appreciate that greatly.

@Jerry Wilson I’ve niched down in to men’s golf clothing. I’m in Masters area so I am assuming that I will find golf clothes pretty regularly. I’m noticing that while I originally thought that, the thrifts don’t have as many of those as I thought would be available. Still looking for what will be my bread and butter. I have a good amount of capital to start up but I don’t wanna run dry picking up items that will sit for 6+ months.
