The Template Folder That Made Me $11,400 In 6 Weeks 🔥
I was rebuilding the same workflow for the 4th time when it hit me. Why am I starting from scratch every single time? So I created what I now call my "Template Folder." Pre-built workflow templates for common document processing tasks. When a client needs invoice extraction, I don't build from zero. I copy the template, change 3 API endpoints, test, and deploy. MY TEMPLATE LIBRARY: 1. invoice_extraction.json - Used 23 times ($27,600 total revenue) 2. contract_terms.json - Used 8 times ($9,600) 3. receipt_processing.json - Used 12 times ($14,400) 4. resume_scoring.json - Used 15 times ($18,000) 5. shipping_manifest.json - Used 6 times ($7,200) EXAMPLE: Insurance Agency Client They needed to process insurance applications (PDFs) and extract key info. Instead of building custom, I: 1. Copied my "contract_terms.json" template (similar structure) 2. Modified the JSON Schema to match their fields 3. Changed API endpoint to their agency management system 4. Tested with 3 sample applications 5. Deployed Total time: 38 minutes My fee: $1,200 Their monthly processing: 45 applications (was 6 hours of manual work) THE 12-MINUTE DEPLOYMENT PROCESS: - Minutes 1-2: Copy template from library - Minutes 3-5: Update JSON Schema for their specific fields - Minutes 6-8: Change API credentials and endpoints - Minutes 9-11: Test with real documents - Minutes 12: Deploy and send them the webhook URL The beautiful thing about document processing templates: The core logic is always the same. Receive document → Parse → Extract → Post. Only the fields and destination change. TEMPLATES I USE MOST: - Make invoice extraction - n8n resume processing - Zapier receipt automation REVENUE ACCELERATION: Month 1: Built 2 workflows from scratch (12 hours each) = $2,400 Month 2: Built 5 workflows with templates (2 hours each) = $6,000

@Natasha Crawford Also, there are n8n training skool communities like in I'm... start for free here and then jump when you can to the for-pay Plus version to get more templates & full training: AI Automation Society https://foundthis.site/aias-free AI Automation Society Plus - with Nate Herk https://foundthis.site/ai-plus
Built A $900 Workflow In 47 Minutes (Here's The Recording 🔥)
Client called Friday at 3 PM. Emergency. 🚨 "Our medical billing outsourcer just quit. We have 400 patient superbills sitting in email. We need to process them by Monday for insurance claims. Can you help?" I said yes before fully thinking it through. THE SITUATION: 🏥 Healthcare provider, 400 PDFs in Gmail, each needs specific data extracted (patient info, procedure codes, diagnosis codes, charges) and entered into their billing system. Manually: 400 documents × 8 minutes each = 53 hours They had 48 hours before Monday deadline Doing it manually: Impossible 🤯 THE SOLUTION I BUILT: 🚀 I opened n8n. Started screen recording. Built it live on Zoom while they watched. WORKFLOW (6 nodes): 1. Gmail Trigger - monitors label "billing-superbills" 📧 2. PDF Vector Parse Document - converts superbill to clean text 📄 3. PDF Vector Extract Structured Document - pulls patient data, CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, charges using JSON Schema 📊 4. Format data node - maps to their billing system format 5. HTTP Request - posts to their API 📤 6. Gmail - moves processed email to "completed" folder ✅ Build time: 47 minutes (including testing with 5 sample superbills) Accuracy: 98% on field extraction (they manually verified random samples) Processing time: 400 documents in 2.3 hours MY PRICING: 💰 - Emergency setup: $900 (normally $1,200 but quick simple workflow) - Monthly cost: $0 (they only use it occasionally, running on n8n Cloud free tier initially) - Their avoided cost: Would've paid overtime staff $2,800 for weekend emergency processing They were stunned. "We thought this would take days to set up." 😮 KEY LESSON: 🔑 Document processing workflows are FAST to build when you have the right tools. The JSON Schema approach lets you specify exactly what fields you need extracted. PDF Vector handles the messy parsing and OCR. ACTUAL JSON SCHEMA I USED (simplified): 📋 { "patient_name": "string", "patient_dob": "string", "cpt_codes": "array", "icd10_codes": "array",

whoa! HOW? how do you find ways to integrate with their billing systems [especially medical, that are notorious for being antiquated & closed/proprietary]?

I should think there's a TON of work in this space right now... I'm refocusing my #sideline agency to add this work, but first, as a 35+ year career Software Engineer & #webdev, are there any teams I could join for a year++ to ease into it, while stabilizing & replacing my Day J.O.B. salary?
