Was on vacation in Puerto Rico last week visiting family, and seeing how I was inspired by seeing how nature is still an integral part of the Puerto Rican way of life. Much of the island is still surrounded by forest and old trees. It's very encouraging.
I didn't take a picture, but as I was returning home during one of my runs this week. I saw this old mesquite tree with Shari (deadwood on the main trunk) which gave it such an ancient mystical look. The trunk grew upwards then curved down to the ground making like a wave formation and each point that touched the ground rooted. It was a fascinating shape for a mesquite tree.
Bioregions
While following the 'Rather than sit and have coffee...' thread by @Peter Philips Watching the photos other members took from their own area, it is hard not to become aware of the differences in the natural environments. This made me think of the importance of understanding bioregions. I have included links to two sources explaining bioregions. Bioregions can also play an important role in biomimicry design, from architecture to nature-regenerating activities to social networking. https://www.oneearth.org/bioregions/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioregion

That makes so much sense! I'm currently working on developing a method of mental health therapy that aims to connect people more deeply with nature and in turn helps to restore ecological systems. This leads me to believe that the style of therapy we do must also vary based on the bio-region we live in. Therapist/earth based healers must teach healing from the perspective of the bioregion they live in.
@Jan-Peter van Wermeskerken Yes indeed! I resonate with that realization. Sometimes I'm so immersed and surrounded by Eco-conscious individuals that I forget we are a small percentage of the mental health field. Much work still to be done! 💯

Imagine a therapy modality that aimed to heal both Earth and our well-being simultaneously. Hi, I'm on a quest to develop Eutierria Therapy.
