In Sudan, Islamists bury Christians alive to later execute them.
In Sudan, Islamists bury Christians alive to later execute them. Where is Greta's Flotilla? Where is Antonio Guterres? Where is Pope Leo? Where are Macron and Starmer? https://x.com/isaacrrr7/status/2073070831530303686?s=46&t=gT6uLhaVod8uwzT4p6povA

Yeah it's time for Greta to take her flotilla to the Nile! 🤣 But yeah it's terrible what is happening there. Very sad situation. That said I am thinking about this a lot in the last days (and for many years already) - WHYYYYY do people rage and scream about 1 problem and when they encounter the SAME problem elsewhere they stay silent??? Where does this great hypocrisy, our incredible capacity for all sorts of delusions, and for cognitive dissonance in us humans come from and how can we break free!? It's really impressive but also really unpractical for us as a society, as it makes us irrational and fight the windmills and each other instead of getting along and building good things. We do get a long and build good things as well fortunately, not all is bad, but it's like we use only 10% of our collective capacity for this.
Rules of conduct
It is interesting that you apply rules of conduct on our messages and those rules are not listed anywhere on this site that I could find. So how do I follow and work within the unknown rules but shut up when they are used against me. Therefore, it is safer not to send any messages to this site to make sure that I do no break any rules of conduct. 😂😗 And Soap Box, I will shut up as you told me. Congratulations.

Hi Joseph! I also wouldn't feel good to be warned, as we as humans don't like to be punished, but the wisest thing to do is to consider the message that is being sent and if you can learn something, and if you don't get it or agree with it discuss it with someone 1-1. And just ignore the point system here is my recommendation, if the issue is spam. It encourages you to post a lot but you are way more valuable as a human being than your score here! 🙂
Why I am not impressed with Skool's points and levels system
It turns out that Skool gives one point for every like on a comment or post. Those point then accumulate to allow one to move up levels. Skool says it is their way of encouraging people to create quality content. By stating that Skool is confusing quality with popularity.

Good points Uv Berg! You know I was #1 and now #2 on another community here on Skool. I do not care about it, I just ignore the points - and I ignore gamification elements on apps/communities/websites in general because I am not some monkey for them to condition 🐒 - that said I do have to make that decision consciously and remind myself because deep down (or not so deep 🙈) we have that monkey side in all of us 🐵
Anything useful I can do for this movement as a map guy? (GIS/Geo-ICT)
Hi everyone! I am a Dutch GIS/Geo-ICT professional and I want to do something useful with my skill. I am here because I desire for Iran (and other countries) to be free from the grip of totalitarianism and Islam - and European countries including my own to stop being so naive. Perhaps there is something I can do to support this movement. Any ideas? I have some already but I would love to read yours To clarify what I do: I work with (geo)data - analyzing it, making applications (web, mobile, etc) and visualizing that - also in the form of maps. Those can be static maps that you can print or show on the screen, or interactive maps. I work as a freelancer so I choose my own projects and clients, so I have no one to ask permission from. My colleagues in the field are either silent about these topics because they either are not politically informed or they do not dare speak out, or (and I think this is most often the case) they are so blinded by Trump derangement syndrome that they automatically go against everything that comes from America (personally I think Trump is not perfect, no leader is - but I see that he's doing things that I wanted to happen for a long time and that a lot of change is happen, a lot I find good - and I hope with y'all that this change will include the freedom of the Iranian people). And I think there is a big group that just follows what's popular and adopts the current thing, looking around whenever they say something to see if they get approval, like pharisees. Now the biggest thing is to become 'sovereign' in terms of software and data from the USA. Everyone is talking about this, it's crazy. I am for limiting Big Tech (from USA or any other country) and for the open source movement, but now they are just in a mass movement, like scared lemmings, like rebelling children. I find it very sad, as I believe that us geographers and people in tech should do what's best for the people and not let us be captured by fear and woke leftist propaganda.

Israel's replacement of the Suez Canal
I have brought this up in a previous session, on this site, but that was about 3 months ago. Therefore, it would be difficult for newcomers to find it. Plus, there is a good chance that I erased it among more than 200 messages about 6 weeks ago. One of the beauties of this canal is the fact that it is wide enough to handle 2 ships at a time anywhere. Plus it is deeper than Suez so it can handle bigger ships. That is one of the main problems with the Suez Canal that it is one way. Thus ships have to park on both sides until their turn comes to cross in one direction. Also, a short while ago a large ship hit ground in the middle of the Suez. The canal was closed for 8 days till they managed to free it and allow to move. Plus the way ships are getting larger to move more things, the Suez will be a total bottle neck in a few years. https://youtu.be/nRe4PJbseog
