I failed at step 1 🤦‍♂️
Turns out I've been exporting without master effects on for like the past year or so

@Owen Palmer 😂
Proof the techniques work
I’m currently sat at #5 on beatport charts for my genre, up there with some huge names in the scene, thanks to the techniques I learned here 👌 big up OTG!

huge brother congrats
Kick Transient synthesis META + Snare Synthesis example 🤙
The replay is here: Group Call 2024-01-18 19:00 GMT This really is the pinnacle of kick drum synthesis for high stakes, highly demanding applications (e.g. genres where artists compete on either aggression, or loudness, or punch, or precision, or clarity, or any combination thereof). You won't even find a reference track in any dance genre with a kick drum that can't be beaten or matched with these techniques – especially if the artists behind the reference tracks are using samples (as is very common). You know... There's often an element of 'thinking out loud' with these coaching calls, and this particular session fired off some tangents that have already led to new discoveries and lines of enquiry that I'll share in future sessions and Classroom material. I'm still experimenting with things on the transcript side, hold tight with that... let me know if there are any issues in that regard. I'm here to help!

@Dean Jehan amazing. yeah this is exactly what I am working on at the moment. I will go through this one this morning and shoot you a DM! appreciate it very much
Hello! I'm new here
Wanted to introduce myself before this weeks call. I am Jason from Florida, USA! Super excited to be here with you all. I have about 3-4 years of production experience under my belt, but with a large gap in the middle. Recently found the time to dedicate to music again, and have been producing various styles of house looking for my own sound. Find a lot of inspiration from other genres as well, particularly some of the bass music coming out right now, but 125-135 is my sweet spot typically. Excited to level up and meet some likeminded producers/electronic music lovers! See you all on Thursday 😃

Creativity Exercises Group Coaching Call
Yo – last night we discussed the creative process, the replay is ready here: Group Call 2023-11-09 19:00 GMT This month in general I want to focus on the creative process. This call spawned two optional exercises... Exercise 1: Make a whole track in 1 hour. It doesn't have to be good, it just has to be finished. Do it with a clock/timer in front of you, stop immediately when the hour is finished. I want you to PANIC your way through the process. Export the track and send it to me BUT don't listen back!!! After sending the export directly to me, delete the export and zip/backup the project so you can't access it. Exercise 2: Stitch me up with a 'bad idea'. Produce something you think is unsalvageable – it could be MIDI or audio format (don't mind). I want to prove there's no such thing as an idea with no potential. Deadline: before the next Group Call (so I can download it ready to do a demonstration). You can do either exercise, or neither, or both – there's no forced participation. Thanks to everybody who came along, biggups to everyone catching up via the archive!

been slowly diving through all of the previous calls here. This in particular stood out to me, as it's a subject I feel gets avoided a lot! curious where people are at with this now today, what's changed what hasn't. I've noticed there is a significant correlation between my mental health and how much I enjoy making music / how good the results are. Taking active steps to find joy in the process, as well as removing the pressure prior to trying exercises like songwriting with a timer. Trying to keep this in the forefront!
