#TBT: Base Kids Had the Best Summers 😎☀️
Remember when summer break felt like freedom on base?No alarms, no formations, just bikes, basketball courts, and staying out until the streetlights came on. Pool days at the base rec center.Slushies from the shoppette that turned your tongue blue.BBQs where everyone’s parents outranked someone else’s. 😂 Those summers hit different. No phones, no social media — just a bunch of kids making the most out of wherever we were stationed. What’s your favorite military brat summer memory?Drop it below — let’s see who had the best base adventures ☀️👇🏽

You Know You’re a Military Brat When… 😂
You knew you were a military brat when: - You could pack a room in under an hour like it was a timed event. - You still remember your old addresses like they’re part of your DNA. - You called adults by their rank without thinking about it. - You thought “moving trucks” were just part of everyone’s normal life. - And somehow, every “temporary” friend ended up in your family photo albums. Military brat life was wild, confusing, and kind of beautiful — all at once. Your turn 👇🏽Finish this sentence:“You knew you were a military brat when…”

The Art of the Military Brat Goodbye 👋🏽✈️
Only military brats understand the weird rhythm of goodbyes.We never just said “see you later.” It was: - Exchange addresses (that we’d lose by the next PCS) - Promise to write (we didn’t) - Cry at the gate (every time) - Then… three months later, we’re the new kid again starting the cycle over. 😂 Some of us got so good at leaving, we learned how to make every place feel like home just long enough. What’s the hardest goodbye you remember — or the funniest one you laugh about now?

We Learned to Adapt… But Did We Ever Learn to Settle? 🤔
Being a military brat taught us how to survive change — new schools, new cities, new everything.We learned how to start over without missing a beat.But here’s something I’ve been thinking about lately… We got so good at adapting that sometimes we forgot how to be still.How to stay somewhere long enough to build something for ourselves.For many of us, “home” became a moving target — and that pattern followed us into adulthood. Now the question is: how do we take all those survival skills — the resilience, flexibility, and awareness — and use them to build stability, ownership, and purpose on our own terms? That’s what I’m exploring next inside the community.What’s one area of your life where you’re ready to stop adapting and start establishing?

@Kendall Hocker that’s all I remember too. In fact, I still have a p-38.
